• PD Meter has been rebuilt on a newer app foundation. Measuring, the Result screen and the guide work as before, and your saved measurements, history and profiles carry over. • When you finish marking a photo, Done now opens your result straight away instead of pausing first.

• Far-away photos: the card step now opens at 2.5×, which spreads the two card ends further apart on screen. Close-up photos stay at 1×; change it any time with "Card zoom" 1× · 2.5× · 4×. • After a result, tap "Measure 2 more times" and take 2 more photos the same way. Then "Your 3 reads" shows the middle value and how far apart the reads are. • If you allow the camera through "Open Settings", Measure shows the camera when you come back, with no app restart.

• After you measure, pressing one of your four marks no longer scrolls the screen. The marks stay locked, and a line under Adjust points tells you to tap it to move one. • Once you tap Adjust points, a press a little off a mark picks up the nearest one. • When your marks give a valid reading and no point is waiting to be confirmed, the Measure result card ends with "Done - open Result", which opens Result with the number you just measured.

• In Measure, Capture Photo now sits inside the bottom of a screen-sized camera preview, so most phones can take a photo without scrolling. • HOW FAR AWAY? stays above the camera in a compact row with Arm's length (~60 cm) and Close (~30 cm). • When placing a new mark, press and slide: it follows your finger until you pause briefly, then the existing magnifier and slower fine-adjustment take over. Adjusting an existing mark and the distance calculation are unchanged.

Fixes the most common reason for a result that makes no sense. If both card marks end up on the same end of the card, or both pupil marks on the same eye, the result card now names that mistake and shows how to fix it, instead of a meaningless number and advice to hold the phone closer. A new "Re-mark the pupils" button clears just the two pupil marks and keeps the card marks on the same photo; "Re-mark the card edges" does the same for the card.

Clearer measuring instructions. Every screen now lists the steps in the order the app really uses: mark your two pupils, then the two ends of the card. Adding your nose bridge afterwards is optional. Card placement is one simple rule: flat on your cheekbones just under your eyes, or on your forehead if your nose tilts it. The point prompt now shows how far along you are (1/4 to 4/4) and how to place a point: press, drag with the magnifier, let go.

If a reading looks wrong, tap “Re-mark the card edges” to redo just the two card points — no new photo, your pupil marks stay. The result now scrolls into view on the fourth tap, the distance choice sits above the camera, and points give a light tap of feedback when placed.

Measure and Result now list tappable sources for the PD reading, the near-PD estimate, and the frame-size numbers, so you can open the references behind those values. Thanks for the reviews and feedback!

You can now rest the reference card on your forehead or your cheek — whichever lies flat against your face — for a steadier, more accurate measurement. The on-screen guide shows both spots, with clearer tips when the card isn't level with your eyes.

Your PD now appears once you've marked four points — marking your nose bridge is optional and only adds the per-eye numbers. Points now land where you aim: press, drag to line it up in the magnifier, then let go. And if the camera was turned off by accident, there's now a way back to Settings. Thanks for the reviews and feedback!

Your measurement now checks itself: if the card looks tilted, marked on the wrong edge, or your face is too small in the photo, the app says exactly what to fix before you trust the number. The reading is always shown either way. Thanks for the reviews and feedback!

Fixed an interruption that could land right as you retook a photo, before you had a chance to see the measurement you just took. Your PD result now settles on screen before anything else happens, so you can read it and check the frame fit without being rushed. Stability fixes for devices that were closing the app during a measurement.

Accuracy fixes from your reports. • Results read slightly low: the reference card sits closer to the camera than your eyes, and the scale now accounts for that. • Fine-tuning a marker moves it at a third of finger speed, so repeat measurements agree much more closely. • Each result now shows its accuracy range. Please re-measure — older results use the old calculation and are left out of your average.

Your PD will read a little wider than before, and that is the point of this update. Eyes turn inward when you look at something close, so the pupils in a selfie sit closer together than they do when you look into the distance — and distance is what glasses are made for. The app was reporting that narrowed figure. It now asks how far away you held the phone and corrects for it, so the number you get is the distance PD an optician would write down. Expect roughly 1–3 mm more than this app used to show, depending on how close you were. The card goes under your eyes now, on your cheekbones, not on your forehead. The forehead sits about a centimetre nearer the camera, which makes the card look bigger and quietly shrinks every measurement. The on-screen guide has moved to match. Per-eye PD is now a real measurement. There is a new tap for the centre of your nose bridge, so the left and right figures come from your face instead of being half the total twice over — which matters if you are ordering progressive lenses. Older saved measurements are kept and still shown, but they are left out of your average, since they were taken the previous way.

Alerts now arrive properly on Android instead of landing silently, and the app no longer interrupts you in the middle of what you came to do.

You can now save separate pupillary distance profiles for multiple people — family, kids, or clients. Switch between saved profiles anytime and keep everyone's PD measurements neatly organized.
