New guided test: sing low, then high, and hold each end twice so one wobbly note can't fake your range. Then stretch it one semitone at a time in Practice. Find your vocal range and voice type by singing. Vocal Range Finder listens through your microphone, guides you from your lowest note to your highest, and shows where your voice sits — bass, baritone, tenor, countertenor, alto, mezzo-soprano or soprano. A GUIDED TWO-STEP TEST ▶ Step 1: slide down to the lowest note you can sing clearly and hold it. Take a breath and hold it once more — the app only accepts an end you can repeat, so a single growl or crack cannot fake your range. ▶ Step 2: slide up to the highest note you can sing in full voice and confirm it the same way. ▶ Tap Finish. If the two ends are less than a fifth apart, the app asks you to sing higher instead of guessing a voice type from too little data. YOUR RANGE ON A PIANO • Lowest and highest note with the number of octaves you cover • Your range lit up on a piano keyboard, with the comfortable zone where you held notes longest marked inside it • Your voice type, plus a Guide tab listing the typical range of all 7 voice types • Singers whose range lines up with yours and songs that sit well for your voice • A range card you can share with your choir, teacher or friends PRACTICE: ONE NOTE AT A TIME The Practice tab sets a target one semitone past your current top or bottom. Sing toward it — the app tells you whether you are too low or too high — and hold it steadily for about a second. Once you do, that note is added to your saved range. Switch between extending your high and your low, and see how many notes you reached over the last 7 days. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS Your range is saved after each test, so you can see how it changes as you warm up, train and grow. Tests from the same day are combined into one daily result, and the app keeps up to 60 of these daily results. WHO IT'S FOR Choir singers finding their part, voice students and teachers, karaoke fans choosing the right key, and anyone who has wondered "what's my voice type?" TIPS FOR AN ACCURATE READING Use a quiet room, warm up gently first, and sing single steady notes rather than sliding quickly. Results depend on your microphone, background noise and how warmed up you are. Voice-type boundaries differ between teachers and methods, so treat the result as a guide rather than a strict label. Sing within your comfort. Stop if anything hurts or feels strained — range grows with short, regular, relaxed practice.

A guided two-step test: sing down to your lowest note, then up to your highest, and hold each end twice to confirm it. Your range now appears on a piano keyboard with your comfortable zone marked. New Practice tab: hold the note just past your edge to add it to your range. Also fixes an error screen some people saw on first launch.
