StoryLoom: Novel Story Bible

Worldbuilding & character map

Free · In‑App Purchases

Continue your story on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Optional private iCloud sync keeps projects, characters, relationship maps, and timelines together. StoryLoom isn't another pile of scattered worldbuilding notes. It's an on-device story bible for writers: weave your characters, relationships, events, and branches into one structure you can see at a glance — and take with you anytime. Web fiction, novels, screenplays, webtoon stories, TTRPG campaigns, fanfic — as characters multiply and relationships tangle and routes branch, nobody can see the whole shape at once. StoryLoom makes that shape visible: characters are nodes, relationships are threads, events are a timeline, branches are routes. WEAVE YOUR STORY IN FIVE PARTS • Projects — create a world (title, logline, genre, cover color) and move freely between them. • Characters — capture fast with name, role, and a one-liner; grow into backstory and trait tags. • Relationship Map — the killer feature. Drag character nodes by hand and connect them with curved threads. Each relationship has a type (family, romance, friendship, alliance, rivalry, hostility, mentor), a direction, and an optional −100…+100 affection. The thread's color tells you the bond at a glance. • Timeline & Branches — stack events in order and split them into branch routes for multi-ending, non-linear stories. Even tangled plots get a visible structure. • Export — one tap turns a whole project into a Markdown / JSON story bible. Back it up, or move it into any other tool. Your world is never trapped. THE RELATIONSHIP MAP — A NEW WAY TO SEE YOUR STORY See complex character relationships as a map, not a table. Drag nodes to lay them out, pinch to zoom and pan, tap a node or thread to edit it inline. Who loves whom, who turned on whom — it reads instantly from color and curve. This one screen is what StoryLoom is all about. WHAT'S INSIDE • Character profiles — role, one-line, backstory, trait tags, avatar color/initial • Directional relationships with an affection ramp (cool tension ↔ warm bond) • Branching timeline with drag-to-reorder • iPhone, iPad, and Mac — a 3-column split layout and roomy relationship canvas on larger screens • Light / dark mode, a warm paper-and-ink editorial design • A sample world on first launch — start with a living relationship map, not an empty screen • Apply AI answers (Pro) — preview, then apply in one go the characters, relationships and events an AI app such as ChatGPT or Claude pulled from your manuscript (StoryLoom itself has no AI built in) YOUR WORLD STAYS YOURS Your work stays on-device by default. Enable iCloud Sync in Settings to continue your projects, characters, relationship maps, and timelines across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac through Apple's private iCloud database. There is no separate account, StoryLoom server, advertising, or tracking, and the developer cannot read your work. You can also export everything to Markdown/JSON anytime. START FREE, UNLOCK ONCE FOR LIFE Free: 2 projects, 15 characters per project, the fully usable relationship map, 1 branch route, Markdown export (with a small "Made with StoryLoom" footer line). Pro (one-time lifetime unlock): unlimited projects & characters, unlimited branch routes, relationship-map auto layout, AI-answer import with Siri & Shortcuts actions, clean Markdown + JSON + .storyloom backup export (no footer). Not a subscription. Weave your world. One bible for every thread. Place your first character node today.

Preview and apply answers from your AI app. • Apply AI Answer (Pro): from a project's Overview › Apply AI Answer, copy a prompt into an AI app such as ChatGPT or Claude with your manuscript, paste its answer back, and see by name which characters, relationships and events will be added or changed. Link names the AI spelled differently to existing characters, and undo right after applying. New to it? A short intro and “Try with an example answer” let you try it first. StoryLoom itself has no AI built in. • Siri idea note (Pro): say "Note an idea in StoryLoom" to drop it at the end of your latest project's timeline. StoryLoom actions are also available in the Shortcuts app. • Relationship map: changes made on another device now appear in an open map right away, and on iPhone the title and characters fit the screen. • Bug fixes and stability improvements.
