Afterward: After a death

A calm guide after a death

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

When someone dies, the practical side can feel overwhelming, and it usually arrives at the worst possible moment. Afterward is a gentle, private companion that walks you through it one calm step at a time: what to do now, what can wait, the deadlines that matter, and the scams that target the bereaved. Everything happens on your device. There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. What you enter stays with you. WHAT AFTERWARD HELPS WITH - A step by step plan tailored to your situation, organised into "right now", the first week, the first month, and later. - The official path for Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States, plus universal steps that apply anywhere. - Money you may be owed: survivor pensions, bereavement payments, funeral help and refunds people often miss. - Who to notify, with ready to send message templates you can copy and adapt. - If someone dies abroad: country basics for travellers and what the consulate can and cannot do. - Scams that target grieving families, and how to protect yourself and the estate. - Support: helplines, what to say when it is hard, and looking after yourself. PREPARE AHEAD Afterward also includes a private "get your affairs in order" mode. Note where your key documents and accounts are kept, and hand a clear summary to the people who will need it. It never asks for passwords or secrets, only where to find things. SIX LANGUAGES Afterward is available in English, Spanish, German, French, Chinese and Arabic, including right to left layout for Arabic. You can switch language at any time in Settings. Translations other than English are drafts pending native review, and the app says so on screen. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No sign in. No analytics. No data leaves your device. Afterward works fully offline. Light and dark themes are both included. A NOTE ON ADVICE Afterward offers general guidance, not legal, tax, or financial advice. Rules change and vary by region, so always confirm the details with the relevant authority or a qualified professional before acting.

Afterward now speaks six languages. Every screen is available in English, Spanish, German, French, Chinese and Arabic, including right to left layout for Arabic, and so is the guidance itself: the full plans for Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States, the money you may be owed, who to notify, the country guides for a death abroad, and the support lines. You can switch language at any time in Settings. Translations other than English are drafts pending native review, and the app tells you so on screen. Everything still works offline, and nothing you enter leaves your device.
