Play NAM and A2 amp captures with low latency. Load your own .nam models and cab IRs, build parallel pedalboards, and use ToneRig as an AUv3.
ToneRig turns your iPhone or iPad into a responsive amp, cab, and pedalboard rig for guitar and bass. Connect a USB audio interface, load a tone, and play—no laptop required.
Built for playing, not just previewing. ToneRig runs at your audio interface’s hardware sample rate with a small buffer, keeping your sound tight and responsive.

I’ve spent years investing in tons of different AUv3 solutions to get a high quality rig that can live exclusively on my iPad, but this is such a fresh and concise solution. Not having to string together a bunch of things through AUM or other similar apps just to get a great tone, not to mention the nuclear explosion of NAM possibilities as well. One thing I’d love to see is being able to control the panning of the second lane, like having the first lane be purely Left side and second be purely Right, or a customized mode similar to what Helix or BIAS FX does with the different splitters and combiners modules. It would also be wild if we could get multiple path splits, or FX Send & Returns again similar to the Helix where things can get stereo split but then also sent in parallel to auxiliary chains. Big dreams, but for now I’m happy 😍

Loving the app so far but could use some more features to really get more out of it. Would love some more effects based pedals to add down the line or dedicated overdrive pedals so we don’t have to take up a NAM slot. Having more noise gate features (release, threshold, and sensitivity knobs), ability to choose where you want them, and have multiple noise gates would help when trying to use heavy gain amps. Not having those features with the noise gate feels really limiting at times if you have specific tones or bands you are trying to sound like. I would totally recommend this app though and the upgraded version is well worth it in my opinion. Hopefully the app continues to be supported and updated.
Building Mini iPhone Pedalboard with ToneRig!

This app is literally a game changer! Even the free app is already so awesome but for $9.99 you get soooo much! Load up your favorite AUv3 plugins! Etc and so much more!I’m running this app in my old faithful iPhone 12 Pro Max! Loading up great delays and reverbs and with NAM v2.0 I have a JHS Morning Glory v4 capture into some amazing Amp captures! Such sweet tone for Praise & Worship pedalboards! The built in effects are truly amazing! Man, just the Cloud reverb alone is worth the price of the whole app! I’m running my Electric Guitar into a mini compressor into my Dunlop X mini volume pedal and into my Xtone Pro Smart Stomp Audio/Midi interface by Xsonic! This is connected to the iPhone via USB thru the CCK3 Apple adapter! Super low latency! So amazing how powerful this mini setup is!I highly recommend this app! I use it live for Praise and Worship ministry!MM4C

Instant purchase 😀 This is what I was wanting to build myself basically but found it exists already. Really flexible, everything working great so far. Great tone3000 integration, sounds really good, the tuner is top notch. I would love to see some modulation options like fractal has, controllers, assignable triggerable envelopes, Lfos. This would be the GOAT if it had those imo. Very close to the goat already, kicks a dedicated pedal in the rear.
New TONE3000 browser with Audition, built into ToneRig
Browsing captures no longer means a web view. The new native catalog covers Latest, Trending, Favorites and My Tones, with search and filters. Audition any capture or cabinet IR straight through your current rig before you import it: close the preview and the block you were on comes right back. Import a single model or a full capture pack.
NAM input calibration and output modes
Set the analog level your interface treats as 0 dBFS once, and any capture carrying its own input reference is matched to it, showing both the reference and the trim being applied. Output offers Raw, Normalized and Calibrated. The capture itself is never altered, only the signal around it.
Two new modulation pedals
VANE Phaser: 4, 6, 8 and 12 stage modes with Rate, Depth, Center, Feedback, Mix and stereo Width.
RAIL Flanger: an interactive delay rail with Rate, Regeneration, Mix and stereo Width.
Both ship with factory and user presets, MIDI Learn, live visualisations, and identical standalone and AUv3 versions.
Hosted plug-ins now open in a floating, draggable, resizable window over your board, with the plug-in's bypass switch in its title bar. Tapping a plug-in opens its interface immediately: the extra "Open Plug-in" step is gone on iPhone and iPad too.
MIDI
A new ToneRig MIDI identity lets hosts such as Loopy Pro route MIDI to a loaded instance, and a stable ToneRig MIDI Input destination accepts Note, CC and Program Change directly. Every general MIDI action is now an AUv3 parameter, so hosts can automate presets, banks, Snaps, bypass, tap tempo, metronome and looper even with the editor closed. New exact-value actions for Tuner On/Off and Metronome Start/Stop, plus MIDI Learn for metronome volume.
An optional tip jar
Under Settings > Support. Tips unlock nothing and every feature behaves identically whether or not you leave one.
Also in this release
- Capture names now read as gear type, tone, model and creator, and TONE3000 IRs carry the same artwork and attribution as captures.
- Signing out of TONE3000 now clears the site session too.
- The tuner picks up quiet instruments more reliably, and the AUv3 tuner matches the standalone one.
- General bug fixes and housekeeping
