Archtone: Jazz Guitar Chords
Chords, theory & improvising
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Stuck on the same chords and pentatonic licks? Jazz harmony is the way forward — learn the voicings, theory, and ear skills that level up every style you play.
ARCHTONE — jazz guitar, finally made learnable.
Every guitarist hits the same wall: the same open chords, the same
pentatonic box, and no idea why the pros sound so much richer. The
answer is jazz harmony — and Archtone is the step-by-step way in, built
for guitarists who already play, not for absolute beginners.
No sheet music. No dry drills. Just the chords, theory, and ear skills
that change how you hear and play every style — jazz, blues, funk,
R&B, and pop.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
• Real voicings — shell, drop 2, drop 3, rootless — and where they
live on the neck
• Why progressions work, so you can build and reharmonize them yourself
• Comping and soloing over ii-V-I, jazz blues, and real standards
• A trained ear — recognize intervals, chords, and cadences by sound
WHAT'S INSIDE
• A guided path from your first voicings to playing full standards
• A play-along band — walking bass, ride, and comping — at any tempo,
in any key
• A chord & scale explorer for the entire fretboard
• Ear training that grows with you
• Practice streaks and progress tracking to keep the habit going

Begin with Essentials free: core voicings, major ii-V-I, and ear

Whether you're a rock player tired of the pentatonic box, a blues
player who wants richer chords, or someone who's always been curious
about jazz — Archtone meets you where you are and takes you somewhere new.
