• Emergency Mode: if you are ever trapped, a loud whistle and a flashing light help rescuers find you. The signals pause between bursts to save battery. You'll find it at the top of Be Prepared.

• Time-lapse on the map: play back the recent earthquakes one at a time. The map glides to each one and pauses, so you can see where and when it struck. • Magnitude rings: every quake on the map is now circled in its own colour, sized by how big it was. • Be Prepared is now one tap from the main screen. • You can change whether ads are personalised at any time, from Settings.

• While You Were Away — open the app and catch up on the significant earthquakes you missed since your last visit. • Depth at a glance: every earthquake now has a cross-section of the ground, showing how shallow it struck and what that means for shaking at the surface. • Magnitude in perspective: see the energy each earthquake released, as an equivalent weight of TNT.

• The tip jar is now available — if you like the app, you can buy me a coffee from Settings.

What's new: • The list view is back — two icons at the top switch between the cards and the classic list, which fits almost twice as many earthquakes on a screen. • A tip jar — if the app has been useful, you can buy me a coffee from Settings. It unlocks nothing and doesn't remove the ads; everything stays exactly as it is.

What's new: • Favorites — star an earthquake and it stays in the new Favorites tab. It survives a refresh, and clearing the cache too. • A redesigned list — every earthquake is now a card coloured by its magnitude, with the country flag, depth, time and distance at a glance. Days are separated by headers. • Aftershocks are grouped under their mainshock. One card instead of hundreds of rows; tap to open the sequence. • A plain-language line on the detail screen: "Shallow and strong — likely felt widely." It says what the magnitude and depth actually mean. • Magnitude (3+ / 4+ / 5+ / 6+) and time (today, yesterday, last 7 days, last 30 days) filters on the map. It downloads the older data when it needs to. • Apple Watch app — recent earthquakes on your wrist, strongest first. It fetches on its own, so it works without your iPhone nearby. • Fault lines and plate boundaries as map layers; satellite and hybrid styles, pan and zoom, + / − buttons and a full-screen map. • Now runs on iOS 17, so more iPhones are supported.

It fetches on its own, so it works without your iPhone nearby. • Fault lines and plate boundaries as map layers. Seeing the fault under a cluster of earthquakes explains the cluster. • Satellite and hybrid map styles, and the map finally pans and zooms — with + / − buttons and a full-screen view. • Now runs on iOS 17, so more iPhones are supported.

What's new: • Alerts for the places you care about — add home, work or family, each with its own radius (up to 2000 km) and magnitude. Open Settings › My Places to set yours up. • Big earthquakes anywhere in the world still reach you, on a separate threshold you control. • Fixed alerts that could go silent after changing your threshold. • "I Felt This Earthquake" — send a report to the USGS Did You Feel It? survey straight from an earthquake's page. • A new preparedness guide: what to do during, after and before an earthquake, plus an emergency kit checklist you can tick off.

What's new: • Search by place — type a city or region name to instantly filter the earthquake list. • Refreshed list: clearer magnitude badges, plus a country flag on every earthquake. • A slimmer bottom bar leaves more room for the list, map and charts. • Earthquakes now sort by magnitude (largest first) — switch back to newest anytime in the filters. • Improved alerts — a faster, more reliable notification system now delivers earthquake alerts within a minute or two. • Fixed alerts that could resurface old earthquakes as new, plus more reliable loading at launch and other improvements.

What's new: • New Statistics tab — magnitude-distribution and activity-over-time charts for the region you're viewing. • Live tsunami warnings (NOAA/PTWC), shown only for the area you're following. • More local sources: the official AFAD network for Türkiye and EMSC for Europe & the Mediterranean — choose yours in Settings. • The list now starts at magnitude 3.0+, so minor tremors don't crowd it. Adjust anytime in the filters. • Performance improvements and bug fixes.
