Skriva is a small, elegant Mac editor for everything you read and write — Markdown notes, plain text and code — without the weight of an IDE or the clutter of a word processor.
Markdown that reads like a book. Headings scale, bold is bold, links are links, lists become real bullets and checkboxes. The raw syntax hides and appears only on the line you're editing — or switch to Read Mode and just read. Notes from Obsidian feel at home: front matter, ==highlights==, [[wikilinks]], #tags and callouts.
Your folder, not a database. Point Skriva at a folder and browse it in the sidebar. Find in Workspace searches the text of every file. Find or create a note with one keystroke. Type [[ to link notes and see which notes link back. Tables render as real tables. Your open tabs return next time.
A real text editor, too. Duplicate, move, sort and comment lines; indentation that follows each file; line endings and encodings you can change; show invisibles; syntax colouring for 23 languages with line numbers. A quiet replacement for the text editor you keep around for config files and logs.

Works with your AI — if you want. Turn on the optional assistant connection and your own AI app (Claude Code, Claude Desktop or any MCP client) can read, search, create and edit files in your workspace folder. It is off by default, only accepts connections from your own Mac, and every change to an open document can be undone.
Private by design. Skriva collects nothing: no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, and it never connects to the internet. It only touches the documents you open and the folder you choose.
