It now loads today's grid directly, and warms it in the background so it's ready the moment you tap in.

Your rating now starts after three placement games, so one unlucky first puzzle can no longer move your rank before you have found your feet. Puzzle Blitz: the score screen now lists every puzzle you played - tap any one to see exactly how it scored. And the clock is now a hard stop: when time is up, the run ends. Also: a clearer first run, and Pro features stay out of your way until you have actually played.

THIRTY OPPONENTS, EACH WITH A NAME The bot ladder is now thirty characters — one per rung, faced exactly once. Kyle has watched the sport for eleven months and has opinions about all of it. Priya keeps a spreadsheet. Hal owns the tape. All of it. • Meet the whole cast in the new Roster. Opponents you haven't reached stay silhouettes until you do. • Every rung now has a pool of boards, so losing and retrying gives you one you haven't seen — a retry is a real attempt, not a memory test. • REMATCH on a result starts the same rung on a fresh board. • Opponents react mid-duel when the lead changes hands. • Who Am I? duels now count speed as well as accuracy, so the format can guard the harder rungs. • A much deeper pool of Grid boards across every sport. Clues are drawn fresh from around thirty angles — draft slot, college, height, jersey number, best season, franchises played for, and plenty more — so no two puzzles unfold the same way, and the same player never comes back as the same puzzle. The mystery player can also be a deep cut instead of a household name. Every puzzle is tagged EASY, MEDIUM or HARD, and the harder ones pay more points. Tennis gets a daily Who Am I? for the first time, and the pool behind all five sports is roughly thirty times bigger. Draft & Spin now supports real defensive rosters — switch to "Both sides" for NFL to draft DL/LB/DB with real IDP stats (tackles, sacks, interceptions, and more) alongside your offense. Playbook also helps you set yourself up as you go — claim your username, pick your favorite team, and add a friend, offered once you've played enough for them to matter. Plus assorted data-accuracy fixes.
