--- CONTROLS YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LEARN ---
• Drag out a capture area → it takes the shot and floats it right there.
• Press ⌘C while dragging the area → that area is copied.
• Press ⌘S while dragging the area → take a guess. It does exactly what you expect.
• Press ⌘C in capture standby without selecting an area → the previous area is copied again.
No separate "Previous Area Capture" menu, no extra step.
• Press ⌘C on a floating shot → that shot is copied.
• Press ⌘C while dragging in OCR mode → the extracted text is copied.
• Press ⌘C while dragging in translate mode → the translated text is copied.
The same key does what you would expect in each situation. That is how shortcuts are designed in Tracer.

Assign resize or opacity to the right drag, turn each UI sound on or off, close a shot automatically after copying, and more.

It’s so good like screenshot editor lets u edit, move and then edit the text AGAIN which is wild and cmd z and cmd shift z ACTUALLY work and there’s even a drag to export so you don’t have to be fast on your feet with the screenshot utility to drag your screenshots elsewhere AND you can even drag your screenshot around (AND THE EDITED VERSION) which I can imagine how adding a test feature photo and overlaying it over an app or design would be awesome using this app and I can even edit the OCR so I can grab a link from a block of text instead of running to a notes editor for that awesome awesome awesome

Hi Flower with a plower,Thank you for the review. Undo, drag to export and editing the OCR result are small things, but they decide whether a tool gets used every day, so it is good to hear they work for you.Overlaying a shot on a design is what I use it for most myself.
Much Better than expected

As someone who tests quite a few screenshot tools, Tracer has a place in my flow now. It has some really unique features, and the speed of use is compelling. For a few $’s it’s well worth it. I use it alongside MacShot. And a really smart thing is that it ships with CMD-SHIFT-2 as the default shortcut, so it is not trying to dominate the screenshot tools. Nice work.

If you deal with foreign language PDFs, images, or apps regularly, get this immediately. Tracer makes translating anything on your screen completely frictionless, and uses on-device Apple Intelligence for the AI components. The text extraction is top-notch, translations are quick, and it integrates smoothly into the Mac desktop environment. Great developer effort!

Hearing that it takes the friction out of your daily work is exactly what I was hoping for.One small correction so nobody gets the wrong idea: the text recognition runs on device through Apple's Vision framework, but translation goes through the service you pick in settings, so that part is not on device.Thank you again for taking the time to write this.

I have several screenshot tools and am a longtime user of CleanShot … however, this tool may be my next “daily driver” because it’s exceptionally innovative, very quick to use, and an all-in-one complete solution. The developer is outstanding and extremely responsive. You really must try it — the price is worth every penny!
