See more of your files without leaving Finder. Missing Previews adds Quick Look previews and Finder thumbnails for engineering, design, and 3D printing files. Select a supported file and press the Space bar to take a closer look. EXPLORE YOUR DESIGNS • STEP / STP — inspect 3D models with interactive orbit controls and source colors where available. • 3MF — preview manufacturing models and supported sliced toolpaths. • glTF / GLB — view self-contained models with supported material colors and embedded base-color textures. • DXF — pan and zoom vector drawings. CHECK YOUR ELECTRONICS • KiCad — preview circuit boards and schematics. • Gerber — inspect PCB fabrication layers. • Excellon — view drill files. LOOK INSIDE YOUR PRINT FILES • G-code — preview toolpaths colored by feature. • Binary G-code — view decoded toolpaths and available print details, with an embedded-image fallback when usable motion data is unavailable. • Supports .gcode, .gco, .gcode.gz, .bgcode, and .ufp files. READ NOTES WITH THE WHOLE PICTURE Preview Markdown with headings, tables, task lists, and code blocks. Render Mermaid diagrams directly in Quick Look. Choose GitHub with Mermaid, GitHub Flavored Markdown, or CommonMark. LOCAL BY DESIGN Your files are processed on your Mac. No account, file uploads, or analytics. Finder thumbnails help you recognize supported design files at a glance. COMPATIBILITY Requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 13 or later. Format support varies. Markdown provides Quick Look previews but no Finder thumbnails. glTF assets must be self-contained; external buffers and textures, skins, and animations are unsupported. DXF text, dimensions, and hatch fills are not rendered.
