BrightMaps 3.0 is here, with four new ways to stay cool on your walks. NEW • Shade Now: Hot? Tap the sun button on the map to find the nearest shade, with walk times. Pro also shows nearby restrooms and drinking water. • Paw Check: Walk a dog? Turn it on to see whether the pavement is likely too hot for paws, based on today's weather and sun. Pro adds the safest times of day. It's an estimate, so always do the hand test too. • Morning Walk Alert: Get a daily morning reminder for one of your saved routes, with the best time to walk it when available. Pro lets you set alerts for several routes. • Shade stats and badges: Sign in to track how much of your walking happens in the shade, earn Bronze, Silver and Gold Canopy Walk badges, and share a card after your walk. Pro adds weekly trends. FIXED • Shade and elevation data could fail to load after a sign-in expired. They now load reliably.

Shade routing is more accurate, especially in the early morning and evening. Building shadows and tree canopy now follow the sun's real position throughout the day instead of a fixed estimate. Onboarding is clearer about show shade actually works: every US Address gets a real shade estimate, and our 25 verified cities go further with modeled building shadows. Shareable route cards now show an accurate map preview that matches what you see in the app. Smaller fixes and polish throughout.
