See what's near your sea pens. Merdvakt puts live vessel traffic on Norwegian salmon farms and alerts you the moment a boat comes too close to one you watch.
Merdvakt keeps an eye on the waters around Norwegian aquaculture sites.
It combines official salmon-farm locations (BarentsWatch Fish Health) with live
vessel positions (BarentsWatch AIS) on one satellite map, so you can see at a
glance which boats are near your sea pens — and get a push the moment one is.
FEATURES
• Farm + vessel map — every salmon locality shown as a net-pen ring, with live
AIS traffic colored by type (cargo, tanker, passenger, fishing, high-speed…).
• Watch a farm — tap a farm and set an alarm. Choose the trigger: on arrival
(a boat enters the perimeter), activity (anything nearby), or on leaving.
• Approaching alerts — a push notification when a vessel comes within your set
distance of a watched farm.
• See what a boat did — tap any vessel for its last-24-hour track. Trigger the
alarm to draw the 24-hour paths of every boat near your farms, classified as
passing through, circling the farm, or came-and-stayed.
• Watch tab — the vessels that have been near each farm in the last 24 hours,
split into passing-by and stationary, with how long ago each passed.
• Analytics — live ship counts, breakdown by type and by flag, and the busiest
and cleanest farms by traffic.
• Cut false alarms — exclude vessel types, and mute specific boats (e.g. the
farm's own service vessel) so they never alert you.
• Norwegian time — a live 24-hour Oslo clock.
Exploring is always free: the map, live vessel traffic, 24-hour tracks, and an
alarm on one farm (up to 500 m), with positions refreshing as snapshots roughly
every five minutes.
MERDVAKT LIVE (optional subscription — US$2.99/month, auto-renewing) adds:
• Continuous live position updates (about every 25 seconds).
• Alarms on unlimited farms, and an alert distance up to 2 km.
• Per-farm visitor history — which vessels have passed a farm, how often, and when.
• Weekly and monthly traffic trends across all farms.
• Fine-grained alert exclusions by vessel MMSI, IMO, flag, or size.
Subscription terms: payment is charged to your Apple Account at purchase; it
renews automatically for US$2.99/month unless cancelled at least 24 hours before
the period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings. See the
