Check available market prices while shopping for knives and EDC.
Snipe by CHOIL adds a price overlay to Whatnot live auctions and eBay item pages. On other pages, select an item's name and choose Snipe value from the right-click menu, use the toolbar button, or press Command-Shift-S. It only accesses those other pages when you ask.
CHECK PRICES
On Whatnot, Check prices opens a capture box. Confirm the region and Snipe combines that image with relevant on-screen item details to identify the item and check available prices. Results can include a median, range, sample size and a deal meter against the current asking price. Asking prices are labeled separately from sold prices. Enough recent matching sales are required for a sold-price estimate.
SOLD PRICES FROM YOUR EBAY SESSION
If you are signed into eBay in Safari, Snipe can request recent sold listings for the item as part of a price check you initiate. Results depend on eBay access and enough matching listings; a match is not guaranteed. Snipe does not crawl eBay or fetch results while you are idle.
Your eBay password and cookies are never shared with CHOIL. The request goes directly from your browser to eBay using your existing session. The page HTML stays in your browser. Snipe sends CHOIL the searched title, query, fetch time, and parsed listing titles, prices, currencies, sold dates, URLs and conditions. These rows stay associated with your own account and price checks; they do not enter CHOIL's pooled market data.
CREDITS
New accounts receive a one-time starter balance of 20 CHOIL credits. A fresh value check costs 2 credits; cached checks are free. Full new-and-used checks can cost 3 credits. The member-session sold lookup itself is free. A completed search with no matches still uses its credits; checks we cannot deliver because providers are unreachable or our service fails are refunded. Image identification, when used first, is charged separately.
A CHOIL account is required. Connecting uses a revocable token, never your password. Selected captures are processed for identification and are not retained. Snipe never bids or purchases for you.
SET UP IN SAFARI
Open the container app once, then Safari Settings > Extensions. Enable Snipe by CHOIL and grant access to Whatnot and eBay. Connect your CHOIL account. The overlay can be collapsed or closed at any time.
