Welcome to ClipBuddy 3.4:
Dear Diary,
Today I typed ;addr in an email and my whole address showed up. I didn't copy it. I didn't paste it. ClipBuddy typed it for me. Snippets now expand as you type, in any app. It stays off until you switch on "Expand keywords as you type" in Settings, Snippets, and macOS asks for Input Monitoring and Accessibility first. What I type is only checked against my keywords, never saved or sent anywhere.
Started keeping notes in here too. Markdown with a live preview, so tasks, tables and code look right while I type. Tags, collections, daily notes, pins. I wrecked a note at 2 a.m. and version history gave me the old one back. My notes can live as .md files in a folder I pick, and Markdown files open straight from Finder.
⌥⌘N opens my notes from any app now, and ⌥⌘T opens my snippets. I tick tasks off right in the reading view, and when I spot a typo I double-click the line, fix it and press Esc to go back to reading. This morning my daily note asked if I wanted yesterday's unfinished tasks. I said yes. Then I changed what a new day starts with, because the layout is mine to pick.
Found nearly 5,000 templates in 83 categories. Meeting notes, support replies, journal prompts. 23 of them arrive already filled in: a habit tracker, a trip plan with a packing list, a grocery list, a workout log. Tables show up as real tables. They ask for what they need: a name here, a date there, or a date three days out when I'm feeling lazy.
Snippets got smarter. Selection Prompts and Chains run on Apple Intelligence, on my Mac (macOS 26). The token bar drops in dates, times, the clipboard and fill-in fields. Brought my old snippets over from TextExpander in one go. aText and Raycast work too.
Copied #FF5F5F from a design file. ClipBuddy showed me the color and handed it back as RGB, SwiftUI or Tailwind. Closed three converter tabs.
Tried all 15 new themes. Picked Catppuccin. Switched to Nord. Long day.
Small things I noticed:
Scrolling through a long history with images is smoother. Screenshots translate. Timestamps convert in one click. I can join a few clips with my own separator. Stats show when I copy the most. The space bar preview has Paste and Copy buttons now. Backups carry note images, version history, tags and collections.
Next on the list: whatever you ask for. feedback@clipbuddyapp.com
