PianoForm is a personal piano form coach that analyzes your posture — just by filming yourself from the side. The app is free, with every analysis feature included.
■ Posture analysis, down to each fingertip
Using on-device body and hand tracking, PianoForm evaluates:
- Head alignment (forward head posture)
- Torso lean (slouching / over-arching)
- Elbow angle (bench distance)
- Wrist and forearm line (collapsed wrists)
- Shoulder tension (compared against your calibrated baseline)
- Finger curvature — all five fingers, including the thumb, judged individually
Your skeleton is overlaid in green, amber or red. Your baseline posture is captured automatically in the first two seconds of each session — just sit down and play.
■ Session recording and playback
Every session is recorded automatically. In the report, the video plays back with your skeleton overlaid; scrub the timeline and the advice for that exact moment appears, so you can see precisely when and where your form broke down. Save the video — skeleton included — straight to your photo library.
■ Masterclass report
A five-axis radar chart (head & neck / torso / shoulder release / arm & wrist / finger form) with an overall score, a posture timeline, and per-finger findings. The advice draws on the great piano-teaching traditions — weight playing, Chopin's hand position, Neuhaus — and a practice menu is generated for your specific weaknesses.
■ Review by a professional piano teacher (optional)
Tone and musical expression can't be measured by an app — that's where a professional ear comes in. Purchase a ticket in the app, send your video and report via LINE, and receive a detailed review from a professional piano teacher, typically within 48 hours.
