• Books with very long file names now import correctly. A long name — or a Chinese one, where each character counts for three — could exceed what the filesystem allows, and the import simply failed.

• When the App Store cannot be reached, the Pro price now says so and offers a Try again button. Before, one bad moment on launch could leave the purchase button greyed out for the rest of the session, with a blank where the price should be and nothing explaining why. • A button that cannot be tapped now looks like it, instead of drawing as a live one. • Switching to a different neural voice while a book is reading aloud no longer loads a second voice model alongside the one already speaking.

• Fixes choosing a voice. Picking one of the voice pack's voices — Chinese female, Chinese male, English female — could tick the wrong row, or none at all, and then read in a voice you did not choose. Any voice you had already picked is corrected the next time you open the app. • A voice you cannot pick yet now says why: tapping one whose model is not downloaded tells you to download it first, instead of doing nothing. • Picking a voice loads it straight away, so narration starts sooner on the first tap of play instead of pausing to load the model. • Narration is steadier at a chapter boundary: stopping, pausing or opening another book just as one chapter ends no longer starts the next one over the top of it.

• Fixes a crash that could happen when you pressed play after the system had taken audio away from the app — for example when the phone was low on memory. • Restoring a backup is safer: if the backup is incomplete or the restore is interrupted, your existing library is left untouched instead of being replaced. • Deleting a book no longer removes the file when the deletion itself could not be saved.

• A listening screen of its own: one button in the reader opens the full player — cover, progress, voice, speed, sleep timer and contents in one place. • The lock screen and notification now show the book's cover. • Voices: tapping a Pro voice plays its sample instead of opening the paywall. Previews were always free; now the whole row is the play target. • Fixed: pressing play just after launch could drop a Pro listener onto the system voice. • Fixed: no progress was shown while the voice loaded. • Fixed: narration could go silent after the system reclaimed audio. • Fixed: a corrupt MOBI file could crash the app.

• The Pro screen now has a Listen button: hear every voice free before deciding. Tapping it pauses the book you are listening to and opens the voice list. • Small fixes.

• Importing many books at once no longer freezes the shelf: books appear as they land, with a running count. • Stability fixes for large imports.

• The voices screen now leads with your own language. After the free system voice come the voices that can actually read to you — no scrolling past a section you can't use. Switch the app's language and the order follows.

• Narration starts right away. Tapping play on a long chapter could freeze the reader for several seconds before any sound; it now begins immediately.

• The app now comes with a book. A new install starts with The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, so there is something to read and narrate right away instead of an empty shelf and a file picker. • It is an ordinary book: rename it, file it in a category, back it up, or delete it. Once you delete it, it stays deleted. • If your language is Chinese, the book is 呐喊 by 鲁迅 instead.

• New: a sleep timer for narration. Pause after 10, 20, 30 or 60 minutes, or at the end of the chapter you are listening to — set it from the narration bar in the reader, or from the bar that follows you around the rest of the app. • It pauses rather than stops, so you pick up on the same sentence when you come back. • The timer is fully labelled for VoiceOver: an armed timer announces what is set and how long is left. • Optional anonymous usage statistics, with a switch to turn them off in Settings › Privacy. • Fixes and stability improvements.

One voice list, one selection. • The voice you tick is the voice that reads. The "smart voice by language" switch is gone, and narration no longer moves your selection on its own. • Choosing which built-in iOS voice to use now lives under the System row, where it belongs — it only ever applied to that one. • The free tier says so: your device's own voice is labelled free, because it is. • The PDF → EPUB converter link now opens the site directly.

Stability release. • Fixed a freeze when opening or re-flowing a long chapter — changing the font size in a big book no longer stalls the reader. • The voice screen no longer hitches: sizes, previews and deleting a downloaded voice all stay off the main thread.
