BREEDING SUITE Record matings by date, or as an "exposed" range when the ram or boar runs with the mob — My Block Hand works out the expected-birth window, and an observed mating gives you a precise most-likely due date. Record a birth straight from a mating: each young becomes its own animal, linked to both parents, with sex, birth weight and alive or stillborn. PEDIGREES AND PRINTABLE RECORDS Build an editable pedigree up to three generations — type in ancestors even if they were never in your herd. Print or save as PDF a branded pedigree, or a full individual animal record, to hand to buyers. New registered name, stud book, DNA and registration fields on every animal. PETS Heat tracking with an adjustable cycle reminder, plus breeding and due dates for a home-bred litter. AUSTRALIAN COMPLIANCE NLIS support for Australia — cattle, sheep and goats, with PIC, NLIS ID and movement/NVD records — alongside New Zealand's NAIT. Run both if you farm in NZ and register stock for the Australian market. YOUR DATA, ALWAYS YOURS One-tap Excel export — a tidy spreadsheet with a tab per record type — and complete backups you can restore anytime. Our first update since launch. Thank you to everyone who came on board this week — a lot of what's below came straight from people telling us what they needed. PASTURE COVER AND RESIDUAL TRACKING Rest days tell you how long it's been. This tells you what's actually there. Log the residual you grazed a paddock down to, set a target for when it's ready again, then log a check whenever you walk past. You get a percentage recovered and a rough time to ready worked out from your own regrowth rate — not from a model, and never as a promised date. Log a reading before stock go in and it works the other way too: how much they've eaten, how much is left above your move-off point, and roughly when they'll hit it. Measure however you like — kg DM/ha, sward stick centimetres, or a rising plate meter reading we convert for you. Starting targets come from Beef + Lamb NZ and DairyNZ and we show you which is which, because published residuals vary from 800 to 1700 depending on stock class and season. They're a place to begin. Your own records will tell you better than we can, and everything is editable. There's a short explainer in the app on residuals, the three-leaf check, and how to measure without buying anything. BOTTLE-FEEDING AND HAND-REARING Lambing and calving is on us, so this one's timely. Track bottle-fed lambs, calves and goat kids from day one through to weaning. Pick a template and the schedule tapers feeds and volumes as they grow, with a suggested wean date you can move. The next feed due shows on Today's Brief so it's the first thing you see. Group them into a mob and it works out the total milk and powder to mix for one feed, and tells you the date the amounts are due to change. Amounts are starting points from typical NZ replacer rates — adjust them to your bag, your breed and your animal. FLOCK MAKE-UP AND BROODY HENS Record how many hens, roosters and chicks are in a flock instead of a single bird count. Selling birds now asks which type you sold, so your numbers stay honest. Broody hens now ride along with incubation. Set a batch to "broody hen", name her, link her to a flock, and the sitting gets the same candling and hatch-day reminders as the incubator — plus a success rate when the chicks arrive. Hatch a batch and it asks whether to add the chicks to that flock. It never changes your numbers without asking. GUIDES The start of a how-to library written for lifestyle blocks rather than commercial farms, beginning with a plain-English guide to NAIT — what you actually have to do, the 48-hour rules, and the annual declaration almost nobody knows about. The info buttons through the app now point you to the full guide on the website. EVERYTHING SWITCHED ON New accounts now start with every section visible, so nothing useful sits hidden behind a settings screen. Turn off anything you don't use in Settings and your dashboard only shows what you track. FIXES Fixed a bug on the farm map where some paddocks couldn't be selected to redraw their boundary — reported by a user, and it turned out mapped paddocks were dropping off the list for good. All your paddocks are selectable now, and it asks before replacing a boundary you've already drawn. Paddock edits no longer clear grazing details that were recorded earlier. Various smaller fixes and speed-ups. Built on a working Northland lifestyle block, and shaped by the people using it.
