Left on Read: Chat Stories

Texting stories you choose

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

16 stories. 194 endings. A phone that texts back. New: Two Years From Now, Last Seen, Share My Trip, The Tip Line. Your phone buzzes. It's 1am. Someone is texting you — and they need an answer. Left on Read is a library of interactive stories told entirely through text messages. Read them like real conversations, reply as yourself, and steer every story toward one of its endings. Choose well and you might save the night. Choose wrong and you might be the reason the typing bubble never stops. EVERY CHOICE BRANCHES THE STORY Tap a reply and the conversation changes course. Each story hides multiple endings — some safe, some twisted, some you'll wish you could unread. STORIES THAT FEEL ALIVE Characters type in real time, pause mid-thought, and leave you on read. Close the app mid-story and they might just text you later, wondering where you went. Every character has a 100% original generated face — no stock photos. A GROWING LIBRARY — 16 STORIES, 194 ENDINGS • Two Years From Now — a text she wrote to her future self, about someone she never told, just landed on your phone instead. (Romance) • Last Seen — she never answers in under an hour. Tonight, every message gets read in under a second. (Horror) • Share My Trip — her shared ride took a wrong turn off the highway, and then her texts stopped. (Thriller) • The Tip Line — an anonymous tip about a decades-old disappearance was never meant for you. (Mystery) • The Fourth Wall — your group chat has run for six years without ever adding a fifth. Tonight, someone starts describing a room she's never been in. (Thriller, 3-person group thread) • The Open Door — your best friend just got home to a door she swears she locked. (Thriller) • Wrong Number — a stranger's 1am text was meant for someone named Danny. (Romance) • Unknown Number — it knows which lights are on in your house. (Horror) • Nightshift — a car just pulled into the gas station, and nobody got out. (Thriller) • Second Ring — your sister found a wedding ring hidden in her new apartment. Then her texts stopped sounding like her. (Mystery) • Last Train North — a one-way ticket, and something they've been too scared to say for six years. (Romance) • DO-NOT-REPLY — a delivery notification from a package you never ordered. When you text STOP, it answers. (Horror) • Live Location — a friend's shared location stops moving somewhere it shouldn't, mid–first date. (Horror) • Previous Owner — your new phone number used to belong to someone else, and someone still wants what they left behind. (Mystery) • Camp Waverly — a stranger texts you like you're her oldest friend from a summer camp you've never been to. (Mystery) • Lost and Found — you're just returning a stranger's phone. Somehow you're both still texting three hours later. (Romance) FIND EVERY ENDING 194 endings across 16 stories, evenly split across Horror, Thriller, Mystery, and Romance. Replay any conversation to chase the branches you didn't take — including hidden paths, group-thread twists, and endings only a handful of choices ever reach. NO ACCOUNTS. NO WAITING FOR ENERGY. Everything runs on your device. Read at your own pace, free. Left on Read is a work of interactive fiction. All characters, messages, and events are imaginary.

Every thread looks and feels more alive this update — plus four new stories to get lost in: - Night skylines are alive now: rain falls, fog drifts, stars twinkle, and lit windows flicker instead of sitting still - Every character got a sharper portrait — soft studio lighting, hair with real shine, a hint of shadow - Messages sit with a real drop shadow and a glassy highlight instead of a flat color fill - A pulsing "online" dot backs up when someone's actually there - Taps on choices and story cards feel like pressing something real NEW STORIES - Two Years From Now (Romance) — a text she wrote to her future self, about someone she never told, just landed on your phone instead - Last Seen (Horror) — she never answers in under an hour. Tonight, every message gets read in under a second - Share My Trip (Thriller) — her shared ride took a wrong turn off the highway, and then her texts stopped - The Tip Line (Mystery) — an anonymous tip about a decades-old disappearance was never meant for you 16 stories, 194 endings, and a thread that finally looks like it's really there.
