TypeDock: Clipboard Manager
Text Expander & Snippets
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Type less, paste smarter. Snippets that expand with a ;keyword, plus a clipboard that remembers everything — synced across Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Pro free for 7 days.
TypeDock is your snippet library and clipboard history in one — on Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
SNIPPETS THAT TYPE FOR YOU
Save the things you type all the time — emails, addresses, replies, code. Give each one a short ;keyword and TypeDock expands it as you type. Fill-in placeholders, dates, and profile fields make every expansion fit the moment.
A CLIPBOARD THAT REMEMBERS
Everything you copy is saved and searchable — text, links, code, colors, rich text, images, and files, organized by the app it came from. Pin what matters, find anything in seconds, and paste it again anywhere.
MADE FOR ALL YOUR DEVICES
• iCloud sync keeps snippets and clips together on Mac, iPhone, and iPad
• Mac: Quick-Paste dock, snippet palette, and system-wide ;keyword expansion
• iPhone and iPad: a custom keyboard that expands keywords inline as you type
• Terminal fans: the typedock CLI puts your whole library one command away
ON-DEVICE AI, ACTUALLY PRIVATE
Ask questions about your clipboard, describe clips, or draft new snippets — powered entirely by on-device intelligence. Nothing leaves your device.
ORGANIZE YOUR WAY

A BOARD FOR THE WORK IN FRONT OF YOU
Collect the notes, links, and screenshots you are working from, tick them off, give them due dates, and hand them to your AI chat as one list. Its own tab on iPhone, its own window on iPad, a sidebar on the Mac — plus a Home Screen widget and a Control Center control. Board is part of TypeDock Pro.
TYPEDOCK PRO
The free tier gives you a real taste: up to 10 snippets, 25 clips, and 3 groups, all local. TypeDock Pro unlocks Board, unlimited snippets and clipboard history, iCloud sync, all on-device AI, the typedock CLI, and unlimited groups, tags, and pinboards — $2.99/month or $24.99/year, with a 7-day free trial.

more Bring your snippets with you
• Import from TextExpander, Raycast and Alfred in Settings › Import. Fill-ins, dates and clipboard placeholders come across, and anything that doesn't is listed before you import.
Search inside your screenshots
• Search finds a picture by the words in it. The text is read on your device, in the background.
Secrets stay out of your history
• API keys, tokens, private keys and card numbers you copy aren't saved or synced. They're still on the clipboard, so you can paste them.
Time saved this week
• A new widget shows how much typing TypeDock did for you this week. You'll find it in Settings too.
Also new
• Snippets inside snippets: {@snippet|keyword@} now expands another snippet in place.
• The Pro screen says why it opened, and on the free plan the clip list shows how many older clips are hidden.
• Settings has a cleaner look, and copied code is colored in TypeDock's own theme.
• Picking an item in a list on iPad no longer redraws the whole window.

A new look, a new icon, and Board.
A new look
• TypeDock now reads like a well-themed code editor: one warm orange for what you act on, every kind of thing in its own color on its icon, and sites, times and sizes in a monospaced font so they stand apart at a glance.
• The selected row is a soft highlight with its text unchanged, like the current line in an editor.
• On iPhone, your clips come first — Pinned, Pinboards and Tags are in the menu at the top.
• A new app icon.
Meet Board — a place for what you're working on right now (TypeDock Pro)
• Type a note, share from any app with Add to Board, or pull in clips from your history.
• Tick things off, pin what matters, give items due dates that remind you on every device, snooze them until later, and add a note about why you saved them.
• Board is its own tab on iPhone and its own window on iPad.
• A Board widget for the Home Screen and Lock Screen with checkboxes, a Control Center control, and Siri and Shortcuts: "Add to my board in TypeDock".
• Queue mode hands you one item at a time — made for working through a list of prompts.
• On your device, with Apple Intelligence: text in screenshots is recognized, untitled links and screenshots get a suggested title, tags are suggested, and Ask This Board answers from your items. Nothing leaves your device.
Sync
• Ticking an item on one device shows on your others within seconds, even from the widget and the keyboard.
• Images no longer sync twice, and a big sync no longer slows TypeDock down.
• Fixes a crash that could happen while iCloud was syncing.

More reliable iCloud sync between Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Upload and download problems stay visible until resolved, cleanup waits for imports to settle, and encrypted content can recover after interrupted connections. The CLI now reports separate upload and download timestamps.

TypeDock stays responsive while iCloud is syncing. iCloud delivers changes in small batches, and TypeDock was re-reading your whole library for every single one of them — which made the app crawl while clips were arriving, and on iPhone could end with the system shutting TypeDock down. Sync updates are now grouped, so a large sync costs a fraction of the work and you can keep browsing, searching, and pasting straight through it.
Searching snippets and clips is much faster. Every keystroke used to re-filter your entire library, several times over. Search now runs once your typing settles — same results, same ranking, far less waiting.
Search by Meaning no longer slows down as your clipboard grows. Preparing it used to read every clip you had ever copied on every search. It now reads only what it can actually use, so the work stays flat instead of growing with your history — and everything the words match is still found, however old.
1.9.12 Sep 3
Recently used clips now appear where you expect them. A clip you used minutes ago no longer sits below clips copied hours earlier—using an old clip moves it back to the top of Today.
Clipboard lists scroll more smoothly. Rows were decoding a full-size image just to fill the small tile beside them, and doing it again on every redraw; they now reuse one small thumbnail prepared in the background.
Quick Paste opens faster and uses less power. The dock keeps its search index warm in the background instead of rebuilding it during a summon, and no longer rebuilds after every single copy.
Snippet packs opened from Files, Mail, or iCloud Drive are now read directly where they live.
1.9.11 Aug 30
Clipboard previews no longer crash on malformed HTML or rich text. Untrusted rich content is now decoded locally without a browser-backed renderer. Search now keeps exact matches visible and tolerates realistic typos—including swapped letters—across TypeDock, Quick Paste, the keyboard, and the CLI.

Fixes and a small improvement to iCloud sync.
• Fixed a crash when opening Clipboard or Snippets. With a large library the app could be shut down by the system while it loaded the on-device search model. That work now happens in the background, so the screens open straight away.
• See when iCloud is working. Clips and Snippets show the current sync activity next to the item count — "1002 clips · Syncing…" — and pull to refresh now waits for a sync in progress instead of snapping straight back.
• The post-crash report sheet is properly laid out. It filled half the screen with a large empty area and its buttons were scattered; it is now sized to its message with the actions stacked in a clear order.
1.9.7 Aug 13
iCloud sync fixes.
• Large copies sync again. Clipboard items with roughly a megabyte or more of text could never reach iCloud — and because iCloud retries the same batch, they held up everything queued behind them. Items already stuck are released automatically, and the upload now resumes on its own.
• Copies are no longer stored twice. Text arrives under two names at once and TypeDock kept both full-size copies. New copies stop doing this, and the pairs already in your library are cleaned up — less space on your device and in iCloud.
• Sync Diagnostics answers the question. It opens with a plain verdict — is this device syncing, and if not, why — lays out the evidence behind it, and can copy or share the whole report for support. When iCloud refuses an upload it now names the actual cause instead of listing possibilities.
1.9.6 Aug 12
Sync fixes, and images that paste as images.
• Images paste as images. Pasting a screenshot from the Quick-Paste dock could paste a file path instead of the picture. Fixed — including screenshots already in your history.
• Your Mac keeps syncing on its own. It was only syncing when you launched it.
• A sync indicator on Clips and Snippets, so you can see when iCloud is uploading or downloading without opening Settings.
• Sync Diagnostics you can read. The sheet was cut off at the edges. It now lays out properly, names the real iCloud error, and can copy the whole report for support.
• Sync history stopped erasing itself, so "Last synced" and Recent activity tell the truth.
• Sync Now and Reconnect iCloud no longer throw you back to Settings.
• iCloud errors say what actually went wrong instead of always blaming your account.
• Check for Updates from the menu bar on Mac, and paste images from the dock correctly.
1.9.3 Aug 11
Sync improvements:
• Sync Now — trigger an iCloud sync yourself from Settings. It checks for new changes and uploads anything waiting on this device.
• Readable sync status — see whether TypeDock is uploading or downloading, and when this device last synced.
• Clearer sync errors — when iCloud rejects uploads, TypeDock now explains exactly what to do.
1.9.1 Aug 10
Paste Stack (Pro)
Queue up several clips and snippets, then paste them one after another — from the Quick‑Paste dock, the menu bar, any row menu, or the TypeDock keyboard.
Trash, with Undo
Deleting a snippet or clip now moves it to a new Trash for 30 days and offers an instant Undo, so a mistap is never final. The old "are you sure?" dialogs are gone.
A smarter widget
Choose what your widget shows: Favorites, a specific group, or a pinboard. There's a new large Home Screen size plus Lock Screen widgets — and the widget refreshes right after you favorite, pin, or copy something.
Crash reports, your call
If TypeDock ever quits unexpectedly, it now offers to share the report saved on your device. Nothing is ever sent automatically.
What's New in the app
Release highlights now appear after an update, and you can reopen them any time from Settings.
Also in this release
• Snippet-only exports carry just the groups and tags those snippets actually use.
• Deeper VoiceOver and Dynamic Type support across the app and the keyboard.
• Fixed: widget rows for snippets without a keyword.
• Fixed: the fill-in form no longer inserts while AI text is still generating.
• Fixed: the Quick-Paste dock could paste an item twice.
• Fixed: the menu bar's Settings shortcut, and Save as Snippet now confirms.

Reaching for a clip brings it back to the top. Copy it from any list, or insert it from the TypeDock keyboard while you're typing somewhere else — wherever you use a clip, it moves to the front of your history and stays there across your devices. The clips you actually reuse stop sinking out of reach.
Clips keep their real capture time. Something you first copied from Safari last Tuesday still says so after you use it again today, instead of claiming it just arrived.
Copying an image copies the image. It used to put the word "Image" on your clipboard, and copying styled text quietly dropped the formatting — both now carry across intact.
Copy confirmations are consistent everywhere, including when you copy the same thing twice in a row, plus assorted fixes.

1.7.0 Jul 31
iCloud sync settings, redesigned. A clear status header answers "is it working?" at a glance, sync gets its own screen, and the copy tells the truth when sync is on but not connecting — with Reconnect and Sync Diagnostics grouped under Troubleshooting.
Search got smarter. Multi-word searches match across a clip's text and its source app — "figma color" finds the color you copied in Figma — and search results now act like everywhere else: swipe, or long-press for a menu with a preview.
Copying with a swipe confirms cleanly. The checkmark takes its own place beside the row instead of sitting on top of the pin and timestamp, it stays clear of your text at larger text sizes, and Snippets, Search and tag lists now confirm the same way the Clipboard always did. VoiceOver announces the copy too.
Long-press menus with previews on every snippet and clipboard list, a new Support section in Settings with guides at typedock.app/support, and assorted fixes.
1.6.8 Jul 30
iCloud sync now tells you the truth. Sync Diagnostics opens with whether this device is actually syncing — and when it isn't, why not — instead of a healthy-looking report on a device that has never synced. A new Reconnect iCloud reconnects a device whose sync has stalled.
Sync also turns on with TypeDock Pro now, with a one-time notice explaining what syncs and how to turn it off. If you'd already chosen to keep it off, that choice is respected.
Fixes:
• Your clipboard history is never deleted to enforce the free limit. Older clips are hidden and come back with Pro — they were previously removed, on every device.
• Clipboard retention now only removes clips captured on this device, so a shorter history on one device can't delete another's.
• Deleting or pinning a clip in Quick Paste updates the shelf immediately instead of on next open.
• Clearer help when macOS shows Accessibility as enabled but auto-paste still doesn't work.
1.6.0 Jul 29
Multi-select is here. Tap Edit in Snippets or Clipboard to select several items at once, then delete, favorite, pin, duplicate, move to a group, add to a pinboard, or tag them in one go — on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Fixes:
• The delete confirmation appeared at the top of the screen instead of over the item you swiped. It's now a clear, centered alert.
• Deleting every item in Recents left you stuck on that screen with a dead Back button. Fixed.
• Lists no longer flash and reload when you delete a row — only the deleted row animates away.
• Pull-to-import now works on an empty Clipboard again.
