Goutwise: Gout & Uric Acid
Flare diary, triggers & meds
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Now with water tracking, a pain curve and treatment log for every flare, portion-aware purine totals, and a backup file you own. Still no account, still nothing uploaded.
Gout doesn't have to be a mystery.
Goutwise turns what you eat, drink and feel into honest, personal patterns — logged in seconds, stored only on your phone. No account. No AI guessing games. No $10/month wall.
FREE, FOREVER
• Log a flare in seconds — joint, pain, how long it lasted
• One-tap triggers: beer, wine, red meat, seafood, shellfish, sugary drinks, low-water days, stress
• Daily joint check-in, so a bad week is visible before it becomes a flare
• Uric acid results with your treat-to-target line (6.0 mg/dL / 357 µmol/L, or 5.0 with tophi)
• Medication reminders — because urate-lowering therapy only works when it's actually taken
• A purine table of everyday foods, with published values and plain risk classes
• Water tracking with a daily goal and gentle reminders — dehydration is the trigger people least often notice
• Backup and restore, so a new phone never costs you your history
NEW IN 2.1
• Hydration, properly — a daily water goal, two taps on Today, one on the widget, the watch or a reminder. It writes to Apple Health, and it finally feeds the dehydration signal without another app in the middle.
• Flare care — every attack now keeps a pain curve instead of one number, plus what you took, when, and whether it helped. Exactly what your doctor asks and nobody remembers eight weeks later.
• Portions and a daily purine budget — the food table knows serving sizes, so Today shows a real milligram total against a budget you set. Counted from published values, never estimated.
• Backup and restore — export everything (flares, entries, medication, photos) as one file you own. Keep it in iCloud Drive and a new phone is a two-minute job. Still nothing uploaded.
• Fifty more foods, chosen for the eleven languages the app speaks.
ALSO IN GOUTWISE
• Home and lock screen widgets, with one-tap logging
• An Apple Watch app — flares, doses, water and check-ins from your wrist
• Siri and Shortcuts, in every language the app speaks
• Apple Health for hydration, sleep and weight; Spotlight search for the purine table
GOUTWISE PRO
• Trigger patterns from your own logs — honest counts, never an AI score
• Early-warning signals: uric acid drifting up, adherence slipping, a high-purine week, hydration and sleep
• Uric acid trend chart with your target line
• A treat-to-target testing plan, with reminders
• Flare photos, so your doctor sees the swelling they never see
• Doctor-ready PDF and CSV export
• Flare outcomes — how long your attacks run and how fast you treat them

Goutwise 2.1 — the three things a gout app kept leaving out.
HYDRATION
Dehydration concentrates urate, and it's the one flare trigger that costs nothing to fix. Water is now two taps on Today — or one on the widget, the watch, or straight from a reminder. It writes to Apple Health, and it finally feeds your early-warning signals without another app in the middle.
FLARE CARE
Every attack now keeps a pain curve instead of a single number, plus what you took, when, and whether it helped. Your doctor asks all of that at every visit; nobody remembers it eight weeks later. The report answers before they finish the question.
PORTIONS AND A PURINE BUDGET
The food table now knows serving sizes, so a tin of sardines is a number rather than a warning. Today shows your purine total against a budget you set, added up from published values at the portions you logged. When the count is incomplete, it says so instead of inventing the rest. Fifty more foods, too.
BACKUP
No account and no cloud used to mean a lost phone took your flare history with it. Settings now exports everything as one file you own — keep it in iCloud Drive, AirDrop it to a new phone, restore in two taps.
Also fixed: the uric acid unit you chose in Settings now reaches the widget, the watch and the doctor PDF.
