CosmicRuler calculates which planets, Messier objects, and NGC deep-sky targets are above the horizon, their azimuth and altitude, the best observation window, and the minimum telescope aperture that will let you actually resolve them.

A curated catalog of the most rewarding objects visible from Earth, with hand-tuned parameters: apparent magnitude, angular size, spectral class, distance, best viewing month, and observation tips.
