File Shelf is a temporary holding area for files on your Mac — drag items onto the shelf while you multitask, organize in-progress work, and let old items auto-clean.
MENU BAR SHELF
• Drag files onto the tray icon or open the dropdown panel
• Badge shows how many items are on the shelf
• Pin, sort, open, reveal in Finder, or drag items back out
CIRCULAR DROP
• While dragging a file, shake the cursor to open a glassmorphic drop ring
• Drop into Inbox, Docs, Media, or Projects
• Rename categories in Settings
AUTO-CLEAN
• Unpinned items expire after a configurable period (default 24 hours)
• Pin important files to keep them beyond the clean window
PRIVACY
• Files are copied into the app’s sandbox container on your Mac
• No uploads, no accounts, no cloud sync
