HeatSeek is a focused thermal companion for your iPhone and iPad. It watches your device's thermal state, logs when it heats up, and helps you act before heat drains your battery or throttles performance — all while keeping every byte of data on your device.
WHAT IT DOES
- Live heat gauge — A clean dial shows iOS's real thermal state (Nominal → Critical) plus an estimated heat percentage, updated while the app is open.
- Heat Dial widget — Add the Heat Dial to your Home Screen or Lock Screen to see your heat level and charging status without opening the app. Small, medium, and Lock Screen sizes.
- Charging safety — Charging while hot is hard on your battery. HeatSeek flags when your device is hot while plugged in, shows a live cooling timer, and nudges you to unplug.
- Thermal timeline — Every thermal change is logged with its duration, so you can see how often and how long your device runs warm.
- Smart alerts — Get notified on thermal spikes and an optional daily summary at a time you choose. Pick from several alert sounds, set the frequency, or turn alerts off entirely.
- Low Power Mode reminders — A nudge, with quick steps, to turn on Low Power Mode when heat calls for it.
- Data export — Export your full thermal history as a shareable file. It's your data.
- A dark, high-contrast design with glowing state colors that reads at a glance.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. No servers. No tracking. No analytics. No ads. Everything HeatSeek records stays on your device, and deleting the app deletes all of it. See the in-app Privacy screen for the full policy.
HONEST ABOUT WHAT iOS ALLOWS
HeatSeek is built on the thermal information Apple actually exposes, and it never pretends to do more:
- iOS reports four thermal levels and no exact temperature, so HeatSeek's heat percentage is a clearly-labeled ESTIMATE — not a degrees reading.
- iOS does not let apps see which other apps you're running or read Screen Time, so HeatSeek does not guess or fake that.
- Widgets and background checks follow iOS's system schedule, so the widget refreshes and closed-app heat alerts arrive periodically, not in real time. Live monitoring needs the app open.
Ratings & Reviews
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
• New: log every charge, even while HeatSeek is closed. Two new Shortcuts actions — "Log Charger Connected" and "Log Charger Disconnected" -- let a Shortcuts automation tell HeatSeek the moment you plug in or unplug, so your charging history shows the real start, end, and duration.
Set it up from the new "Log every charge" card on the Charging tab.
• Fixed: a charge started just before leaving the app could show 0% heat. HeatSeek now records a heat reading the moment charging begins.
