ShowTracker 1.24 — the first five minutes. • There's a home-screen widget, and we had never once told you. It shows the next episode waiting for you, and you can check one off from the home screen without opening the app at all. It has been in here for most of the app's life and the only place it was ever described was this page. Settings › Tips & tricks now walks through adding it. • The people you follow finally live somewhere. You could always follow an actor or a director to hear about their next release — but there was nowhere in the app to see who you'd followed, and no way to unfollow without hunting back through a cast list. Discover now opens with their faces, and a row of what they have out or coming. Long-press a face to unfollow. Thanks Chris — this one had been invisible since the feature shipped. • Logging something you watched years ago takes one tap. Marking an old film or episode meant walking the date picker back a month at a time — it now offers the day the film came out, or the day the episode aired, right above the calendar. Thanks Chris, who found this one and three more: a tidier Shows header, and a layout button that shows the view you're actually in. • An empty queue tells you why it's empty. What's Next used to give one sentence to three different situations. Now it says the true one — whether you haven't added anything yet, whether everything you follow is between seasons, or whether you genuinely are caught up. • And it is no longer empty by mistake. Pick a few shows the first time you open the app and What's Next was still showing you the empty screen underneath it, until you left the tab and came back. It fills in the moment you're done. • Setting up asks about films too. That first screen offered trending television only, in an app with a Movies tab, a film watchlist and film stats. ShowTracker 1.21 — the things that were quietly broken. • Your TV Time zip really does import now. 1.20 said it would, and the build couldn't: the app decided what kind of file it had before it opened the zip, so it never saw the export inside. If you tried and got "Couldn't import that file", it works now — same zip, nothing to unpack. • Following someone now actually tells you. Follow an actor or director and you should hear when they have something new — but the app was filing away their announced-but-undated projects as already seen, so the alert for the very film you followed them for never arrived. It does now, and tapping it opens the film instead of wherever you were. • An actor who plays two roles is one face in the cast, not two. • Stats remembers "All time" even if you've only been tracking a few months. • Sharing a fun fact sends the fact you're actually looking at. • Adding to a list: pick Shows or Films, and search when the list is long. • And when something can't be saved, the app says so instead of quietly doing nothing. Check something off and the confirmation now carries a little calendar — "actually, I watched it yesterday" is one tap. Episode 167 of your comfort binge is lovely, but it's not news; the episode that arrived this morning is. Tomorrow, everything settles back to normal. • Coming this week. Right below your queue: a wall of posters for everything premiering in the next seven days, each cover carrying its countdown — "1 day", "4 days". Your whole week, one glance, zero reading. • Shows that come back now come back. If a series was marked "Ended" between seasons (it happens more than you'd think, especially with reality shows), ShowTracker used to take that as final — the new season never appeared, and the show sat frozen in Completed. Now it checks back and catches renewals on its own. ShowTracker 1.13 — for the shows you set down. • Put a show on hold. Not every series you stop watching is one you've dropped — sometimes you're just not in the mood, and the app had no word for that. It either kept asking about it under "Not watched in a while", or you archived it and it disappeared. Now you can pause it: it stays in your library with your whole history, in its own section, and simply stops asking. It leaves your queue, your widget, Coming Up and your reminders until you pick it back up — one tap to resume. • Your iPad gets its own answer. The poster wall is lovely on a phone, and on an iPad it was throwing the room away: the list there shows you the countdown, the full episode title and the check-off button all at once. So iPad now opens as a list and iPhone as posters — and whichever you pick, on whichever device, sticks. • Bigger covers on iPad for when you do want the wall — fewer, larger posters instead of a stretched phone screen. • The countdown is back on the poster wall. ShowTracker 1.12 — your library, poster-first. • Your library is a wall of posters now. Shows and Movies open as artwork you actually recognise, because that's how you remember what you're watching — not as a column of titles. One tap in the header flips back to the list whenever you want, per tab, and it remembers which you prefer. • A new season is news, not a guilt trip. Caught up on a show that just came back? It used to land under "Not watched in a while" — as if you'd neglected an episode that aired yesterday. Now it goes straight to What's Next, where it belongs. A real backlog still says exactly what it always said. • Pull to refresh got dramatically faster. It used to walk your library one season at a time; now it refreshes several shows at once and fetches only what's actually new. Big libraries, a fraction of the wait. • Checking something off finally feels like checking something off. The check fills, the progress bar grows into its new place instead of jumping there, and finishing a season stamps a seal. ShowTracker 1.11 — the queue meets you where you are. • Started a show at its current season? Your queue now starts there too. Following something mid-run used to drag "up next" all the way back to S01E01 — homework, not tonight's episode. Now it picks up from where you actually watch (skipped an episode in a season you started? that still resurfaces — it's the untouched back catalog that stops jumping the line). • Reminders now say where to watch: "S02E10 – Cold Harbor airs today on Crave." Open a show's page once and ShowTracker remembers its service for you — no more reminder, then a hunt through your apps. • The completion moment now happens wherever you finish. "That's a wrap" and season milestones used to appear only from the queue — now the episode list itself celebrates too, Rate button and all, which is where most finales actually get checked off. • Sort your Completed shelf your way — one tap flips between Recently finished and A–Z, and the choice sticks. • The widget got lighter on its feet: it reuses the queue the app already worked out instead of re-computing your whole library every hour. ShowTracker 1.10 — it tells you when you can watch, and celebrates when you do. • Your watchlist now watches the streaming services. When a movie you've saved turns up on one, ShowTracker tells you — "Now streaming: Dune on Netflix" — the moment its daily check notices. You asked that question when you saved the film; now it gets answered. (Toggle in Settings if you'd rather it didn't.) • Finishing something feels like it now. The tap that completes a season — or wraps a whole show — says so, with its own moment: "Season 2 of The Last of Us complete — 7 episodes." • Rate it while it's fresh. Every check-off now offers a quick Rate — a 1–10 and an optional note, right there, the moment the episode is freshest in your head. ShowTracker 1.9 — bring your TV Time history with you. • Import your TV Time export. TV Time shut down in July and took its export portal with it — if you saved your data before then, that file isn't stranded any more. Open Settings › Import, pick it, and your shows, episode history and watchlist come across. • Matched properly, not guessed. Shows are matched by database id rather than by name, so remakes and non-English titles land on the right series — and anything that can't be matched is listed for you instead of quietly skipped. (Episodes only: TV Time didn't record enough about movies to match them safely.) • Importing now shows real progress — a proper bar and a running count, so a big library never looks like it has frozen. Restoring your own backups uses it too. • Backups now carry everything. Your episode notes, show ratings, muted shows, custom posters, the people you follow and your custom lists all travel with an export — several of them never used to, so a restore quietly returned a smaller library than the one that left. Restoring also keeps the dates you actually watched things, instead of moving them to when they aired. • Undo no longer costs you a watch. Checking off an episode that was already marked — from the widget, another device, or a double-tap — used to offer an Undo that removed the real watch already there. • If your iPhone is set to a non-Gregorian calendar (Buddhist, Japanese, Republic of China), every episode used to look as though it had already aired. Dates are now read correctly whatever calendar you use. • If iCloud ever failed to start, the app could open on an empty library while your shows were safe on the device the whole time. It now always opens your real library, with syncing simply switched off until iCloud recovers. • "Use air dates for watch history" can be undone straight afterwards, and the Shows tab loads faster with a large library.
