I'm Lucas, the developer behind Powerband Precision. I got my first nitro car at 13 years old-made me party because it was 1999! Took me years and years of trial and error to finally feel I had tuning down. Being in my teens without any financial income, no internet or R/C forums to ask questions, nor was there anything like YouTube to watch for tips and pointers. I built this app because I know what a pain tuning can be and how it could push someone to feel like they want to quit the hobby. My app keeps you in the game.
Knowing why an engine is making the sound that it's making can make tuning a walk in the park.
Through my website, I receive engines from around the U.S. for break-in, rebuild, troubleshooting, etc. Any engine that receives a tune, I log it into the app which everyone can see that has the app installed on their device. Although a tune is more so engine/location specific, the final outcome is always relatively close, making logs a great reference tool.
Every engine baseline comes from personal experience or the manufacturer's instruction manual. Sounds have been recorded from my personal vehicles/engines while on a dyno , and all the diagnostic/troubleshooting issues I have experienced myself or have watched them happen. Thank you!
Really useful app for anyone running nitro RC cars. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of tuning and makes it much easier to understand what your engine is telling you. The rich vs. lean sound comparisons are especially helpful, and the diagnostic tools are great when you’re trying to figure out why an engine isn’t running right. Clean, easy to use, and genuinely useful at the track or in the garage. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

• A/B Compare (NEW): Pick a circuit — Idle, Low-Speed, or High-Speed — and instantly flip between the Rich and Lean sound so you can hear the difference back-to-back and train your ear. Each side shows exactly what to listen for.
• Dyno Charts (NEW): Attach a tuned dyno chart photo to any engine in the Engines tab and view it full-screen with pinch-to-zoom. Build your dyno library over time.
• More Engines: Added 10 engines with their factory settings
• New Diagnostic: "Bogs then regains power on the straight" — covers 2-speed, one-way bearing, and belt/pulley issues.
• Playback fixes: Resolved clips not playing and made audio streaming more reliable across the sound library.
