The major 2.0.0 update contained some bugs and caused a poor experience. Sincere apologies—this is a focused fix release.

AO3X 2.0.1 makes local reading data more resilient. Your existing Library, lists, history, reading progress, preferences, and optional cloud-backup state are migrated automatically to transactional storage. No action is required, and downloaded chapters remain on this device.

AO3X 2.0 rebuilds the app around reading. Follow fandoms as Interests for a balanced Discover feed, and save scoped searches as Custom Feeds. Browsing, search, and filters now share one clearer path. Work information, chapters, comments, and actions now live together in Reader. Font choice has also been rebuilt: the catalog adapts recommendations to the script you are reading, supports fonts already on your device, and offers verified Chinese font packs on demand. Font files and your exact selection stay on this device. Library and offline reading are more resilient, and navigation and the visual system have been rebuilt for clarity. Your existing Library, history, reading progress, preferences, and optional cloud backup carry forward when you upgrade.

Cloud backup is now available. Sign in to AO3X and turn it on to back up your Library, reading history, progress, and preferences, then restore them on another device.

Your Library now supports custom groups. Create groups that fit the way you read, add a work to more than one, organize several works at once, and filter your Library by group. Author pages are now easier to discover. Tap a creator byline or commenter to see their public works. We've also improved the comments entry on Work Details. Multi-chapter works now name the chapter you're opening, so the work-wide comment total isn't confused with comments on that chapter.

Your Library is easier to use: search works, filter by To read / Reading / Finished / On hold, and change the status of multiple works or remove them at once. The new Inbox keeps release notes and important announcements available whenever you need them, without interrupting your reading. We've reorganized Settings. We've also improved comment pagination, image viewing, and error messages, and fixed several stability issues.

You can now view comments on works and chapters without leaving the app.

Offline reading is here. Save a whole work to your device and keep reading when you're offline. If a save gets interrupted, you can pick up where it left off. Saved works are also easier to find and manage. Pages and chapters now open faster, and moving around the app is smoother. We've also fixed a few bugs and improved stability.

Work lists now sort by Kudos by default — in Search, on tag pages, and in Discover. The Fresh row still shows what updated most recently. Reading progress waits for the chapter to finish laying out before it restores, so you land on the paragraph you left instead of somewhere near it. Chapter navigation is cached now, so moving between chapters is quicker.
