Write in your outline while you present — and every document now has a permanent identity. WRITE WHILE YOU PRESENT Dock an outline beside the exhibit and a Type button appears next to it. Switch it on and you can add lines while you are still presenting: the follow-up question that occurs to you while the witness is answering, or what they just said in their own words. The audience display never shows this pane. • Tap Return for the next line, or the plus button beside any line to start one beneath it • A size slider sets how large the outline reads — courtroom lighting and a lectern's distance are not the conditions it was written under • Show ▸ What I've Typed Here bands the lines you added this session, so you can find them again in a long outline • Long-press the plus button beside a line you wrote to delete it • Prepared questions cannot be altered at the lectern. You add; you do not rewrite. Everything is editable in the document editor when you leave Presenter Mode • What you write is saved as you go, and again whenever you leave the pane, switch outlines, or close the app DOCUMENTS KNOW WHICH ONE THEY ARE Every case folder has an "Ex. 6.pdf". Duplicate a folder for a second witness and you have two of every name. Until now Case Linker found a document by its name, so those copies could be confused with each other. From this version each document carries a permanent identity, assigned when it enters your library and kept for life. Your highlights, bookmarks and links point at that. • Rename a file, rename its folder, move it, or duplicate the whole case — nothing can put a mark on the wrong document • Marks made in a copy stay in the copy; marks in the original stay in the original • Deleting a document takes only its own marks with it The first time you open 1.4 your existing marks and links are converted, once, and you are told what happened. A backup is taken first — Settings can restore it, save a copy to Files, or remove it. Where two documents share a name and the choice is genuinely yours, nothing is guessed: Settings ▸ Links Needing Attention shows them for you to accept or leave alone. ALSO IN THIS RELEASE • Your own saved highlights are always visible in your preview. The switch beside them governs what the ROOM sees, not what you see • Headings in the presenter outline carry their numbering, matching the Mac • Citation lines stay live links while Type is on, so the outline keeps driving the audience display • The outline follows the document's own page colours instead of the iPad's appearance • Bookmarks are never baked into an exported PDF. A pin marks where you were reading; it is not for opposing counsel • An exported folder keeps its name — no more "Pineapplecase_AODE1372" • Outlines count exhibits properly: Exhibit 2 comes before Exhibit 10 • The library list counts each document's own marks • The user guide gains two chapters on all of this

SEARCH THAT TELLS YOU WHERE THE ANSWER IS Search now reports how many times a word appears in each file, so you can see at a glance which brief or deposition is worth opening. Choose whole words only, to stop "trial" matching "industrial". Search a single folder instead of the whole library. And what you searched for carries into the document when you open it — the matches are already highlighted, with arrows to step through them. SCANNED DOCUMENTS Text recognition now asks what you want: read only the documents that were scanned and have no text, or read every document again. A file that already carries good text is no longer reprocessed for nothing. SHARE A CASE'S STRUCTURE WITH ANOTHER CASE LINKER USER Long-press a folder to hand your subject issues — or your whole reading of the record — to co-counsel. Share Subject Issues Only sends your issue headings and groups. Nothing from the record travels, so it is safe to send to anyone. Share Marks and Links sends the analysis itself: your highlights, the notes on them, and the links tying a brief to its exhibits, along with the issues they are tagged with. Every document is fingerprinted on the way out and checked on the way in. If your colleague's copy of an exhibit is not the same file — re-scanned, re-Bates'd, or simply missing — the marks that would land on it are held back and named, rather than placed on a page that only looks right. The issue identities travel with the file, so two people working from the same set describe the same structure. PRESENTER MODE A new switch shows the room the highlights you made earlier, dimmed beneath the ones you paint live — or keeps them to yourself. It starts off, and turns itself off again when you move to another document: what you were happy to show on one exhibit is not a decision that should carry silently to the next. DUPLICATE A FOLDER, WITH OR WITHOUT YOUR WORK Duplicating a case folder now asks: bring the marks, links and subject issues along, or take the documents only. THE DOCUMENT EDITOR Choose how paragraphs sit under a heading: indented beneath it, or at the left margin. Paragraph spacing is measured in lines, so single, 1½ and double spacing look the way they read. FIXES Deleting a document or a folder now removes the marks and links that belong to it. Previously they could survive and reattach themselves to a different file with the same name — so a deleted exhibit could still appear in an outline, its link opening a document you thought was gone. Marks left behind by earlier versions are cleared automatically. Every page of the user guide returns to the contents.

Fixes • Editing or deleting a link zone no longer drops a bookmark on top of it. • Link drawing no longer stops working until the app is restarted. • Tabs now work while a page is zoomed in. • Notes and their tags save when you close the note, not only when you tap Save — and editing a note no longer clears the tags already on it. Subject Issues Name the issues you're litigating, and tag highlights and bookmarks with them as you read. Case Linker then builds your outline organized by issue instead of by document — group your issues and the groups become the outline's main headings. Turn on "List issues with nothing tagged" to see which parts of your argument nothing in the record supports yet. Outlines that keep up Outlines now cite the way a brief does — "Ex. 12 at 45", using the exhibit number and the page number printed on the page. Where that number can't be read, the entry says "PDF p." rather than guessing. Mark up more of the record and choose Add New Marks: new entries drop into the right sections, and marks you've re-tagged move to where they now belong. What you wrote in the outline yourself is left alone. Sharing an outline Export an outline with a folder of the PDFs it cites, links intact — or as one combined PDF where every citation is an internal jump, for readers who only have Preview.

BOOKMARKS • Press and hold anywhere on a page to drop a bookmark pin and attach a note — perfect for a chart, a photo, or a signature block, where highlighting text isn't what you want. • A bookmark's note becomes its outline entry, and the link lands on the exact spot you pinned, not just the page. • Hide or show all pins from the ••• menu when you want a clean page to read or present. OUTLINES ARE EASIER TO FIND • "New Outline from Folder" is now right on the folder — press and hold any folder. It gathers every highlight and bookmark in that folder and its subfolders into one outline, with a link back to every source page. (It was previously tucked inside Highlights & Notes.) LINKING • Zoom in before drawing a link zone. Pinch to magnify the page, then drag — useful for linking a single line or a figure precisely. • Links inside a text document's preview now work: tap one and the document it points to opens at the right page. ALSO • Each file in the Library now shows its links, highlights, and bookmarks at a glance. • Faster exports for large folders.

• Fixed choosing a target PDF when creating a individual hyperlink in a pdf — folders and subfolders now open properly, and the file you tap is the file that gets linked. • Exhibits filed in multiple ECF parts now link to the part that actually contains the cited page.
