Fill Window for Video

Mac
Now with Skip intro on Netflix & Prime, a LIVE button for streams, live chat, interactive YouTube comments and glass controls that adapt to your video.
Most "fullscreen" browser extensions just maximize your entire window. Fill Window actually makes the video itself fill the space — instantly.
A BEAUTIFUL, MODERN DESIGN
Everything in Fill Window has a sleek glass look: floating controls, rounded panels and buttons that respond as you hover and click, all letting your video show through. The controls even adapt to what's playing, switching to dark text over bright scenes so they're always easy to read. Prefer something more solid? Turn off the glass effect in settings.
WHAT IT DOES
Click the toolbar icon, use the keyboard shortcut, or hover a video for a quick expand button — Fill Window expands it to fill your current Safari window. No need to leave windowed mode, no native fullscreen animation, no juggling other apps you want to keep visible alongside it.
Once it's filling the window:
- The video's title shows with the controls
- Single-click the video to play or pause
- Double-click, press Escape, use the Close button, or press Back in Safari to exit
- Skip back or forward with the arrow keys or the on-screen buttons
- Scroll to zoom in, then click-drag to reposition — a Reset button snaps back to fit
- Hover the seek bar for a preview of that moment, and drag it for smooth scrubbing
- Watching live? A LIVE tag shows whether you're live, and takes you straight back if you've fallen behind
SKIP INTROS ON STREAMING SITES
On Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+ and more, a Skip intro button appears whenever the site offers one, along with Skip recap. One click and you're straight into the episode.
MORE ON YOUTUBE, WITHOUT LEAVING FILL MODE
- Up next: open a panel of suggested videos and switch to one on the spot
- Play next: line videos up in a queue and they play in order
- Autoplay: turn YouTube's autoplay on or off from the same panel
- Comments: open a side panel to read, like, reply and sort, or just scroll down on the video
- Live chat: follow a live stream's chat right beside the video
- Jump ahead: if you have YouTube Premium, the Jump ahead button appears in fill mode too
- Quality: switch playback quality from the controls bar
MULTIPLE VIDEOS ON ONE PAGE
Click the toolbar icon to see every video on the page with a thumbnail and pick the one you want. If there's only one, Fill Window fills it straight away.
ONE CLICK, RIGHT WHERE YOU'RE LOOKING
Hover any video and a small expand button appears in its corner, moving aside if the site already has a control there. Choose which corner and how big it is, with a live preview in settings, or turn it off entirely.
MADE YOUR WAY
A full settings page, in light or dark mode to match your Mac, lets you switch the glass effect on or off, and choose how long the controls stay visible, how far each skip jumps, and whether the playback buttons show on the video. It also includes a built-in guide to the gestures and shortcuts.
BUILT FOR REAL WEBPAGES
Modern video players often sit inside containers that break naive "make it fullscreen" tricks. Fill Window handles this properly, so it works reliably across a wide range of sites and custom players.
PRIVACY, DONE PROPERLY
Fill Window collects nothing. No analytics, no tracking, no accounts, no data sent anywhere. It only works with the page you're already viewing: to find and control the video and, on YouTube, to show that page's own suggestions, comments and chat. Your Play next queue stays in the tab and is gone when you close it. Full details in the privacy policy linked on this page.
FREE, WITH AN OPTIONAL TIP
No ads, no subscriptions, no feature locked behind payment. If you'd like to support future development, there's an entirely optional tip built in through Apple's own In-App Purchase — never required, never intrusive.

What's new in 2.1
- Skip intro: on Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+ and more, a Skip intro button appears whenever the site offers one (Skip recap too)
- Live streams: a LIVE tag shows when you're watching live, and how far behind you are when you're not. Click it to jump straight back to live
- Live chat: watch a YouTube live stream with its chat open beside the video
- Comments, reimagined: YouTube comments now open in a side panel where you can like, reply, sort and write your own
- Video title: the title now shows in the top corner alongside the controls
- Smarter glass: controls switch to dark text and icons over bright scenes, so they're always easy to read
- The overlay button now moves out of the way of a site's own controls, and appears as soon as you hover a video on more sites
- Smoother scrubbing: dragging the seek bar is quicker and buffers far less
Fixes
- Scrolling up to close comments no longer zooms the video by accident
- The skip buttons now work properly on live streams
- "Open Safari Settings" in the app is more reliable, with help if Safari doesn't open it
- General performance and efficiency improvements
