The knobs turn again. If you grabbed a dial and nothing happened, that is fixed. You no longer have to pause on a knob before it will move. Exporting with a video filter on no longer crashes. The app was taking on frames faster than it could finish them, and on a long or high resolution clip that used enough memory for the phone to shut the app down partway through the export. After an export, the app now shows its work: the loudness your clip came in at, the loudness it went out at, and how much the limiter had to hold back. Video shot in HDR on a recent iPhone now exports instead of failing at the last step.

Fixed a crash that could close the app when you opened Settings. Play Along now asks for camera access before it counts you in, instead of recording a whole take with no video and only telling you at the end. Questions, bugs, or requests: porter@415porter.com. I read all of them.

When an export fails, the app now tells you why. Instead of a framework error code, you get a plain sentence about what actually happened and what to do about it, plus a Try Again button when trying again could work. Every tool in the app is still free to use, on as many videos as you want, with no limit on exports. Pro removes the mark, so the video you post is only yours. Stem separation now takes seconds instead of minutes. Free exports sound finished. The Studio toggle now masters the whole thing, not just the tone, so what you post is loud enough to hold its own next to everything else in the feed. Export is fixed. It asks for photo permission before it renders instead of after, it keeps going if you step out of the app for a moment, and it tells you up front if your phone is too full. If you tried to export and it kept failing, try again. Importing shows you a percentage, and no longer gives up on a video that is still coming down from iCloud. Play Along remembers your headphones' delay separately for each pair you use.

Play Along, fixed on four counts. The record button now always tells you what it did. If a take cannot start, it says why on screen instead of leaving you on the setup page wondering whether you are rolling. Your headphones' delay is measured again every time you switch pairs, so your hits land where you played them. Plugging in wired headphones no longer hands the recording to their little inline mic. You get the room and the kit. The screen stays awake while you play. If you turned off Auto-Lock to work around that, you can turn it back on. Exports also stay smooth on long clips with a filter applied.

The ? buttons. Tap the one next to "Master for", or the one on Play Along, and the app explains what it does and how to get the best out of it — starting with the advice nobody gives you, which is to wear headphones. Exports are smoother on long clips.

Stem separation keeps going without you. Start it, then go work on another mix or close the screen entirely — it no longer stops when you leave. A progress bar follows you around the app, and we'll tell you the moment it's done. Exports are faster and steadier on long clips.

Settings now live in one place. Tap the gear on the home screen for your export signature, restore purchases, reminders and the legal bits, instead of hunting for them. Reminders finally have an off switch, and it takes effect the moment you flip it.

Invite a friend and you both get a month of Pro free. Their first month is on you, and when they stay on, your next month is on us. Your invite code is at the bottom of the home screen. Play Along is fixed: takes start every time you hit record, they stay in sync with the backing track, and the count-in can now be switched off. The home screen speaks German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese now, along with the rest of the app.

415 Studios now speaks your language. The whole app is translated into German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese. Importing a video that was still in iCloud could hang on "Importing" forever, with no error and no way out. That is fixed. It now stops on its own and tells you to open the video in Photos once so it downloads, instead of leaving you watching a spinner.

Your sound, on every video. Get a mix you like, save it as your sound, and every video you bring in after that opens already sounding like it. No setting it up again. Save over it any time and the new one takes over. It stays an ordinary preset underneath, so you can still load it by hand or clear it whenever you want.

Stems. Split any take into drums, bass, music and vocals. It runs on your phone, so nothing gets uploaded and it works with no signal. Each stem gets its own fader, so you can pull the vocal down to play along or keep the drums on their own. Play along mixes now leave the song alone. Everything you reach for shapes your kit and not the backing track, so you can compress the snare without squashing the record. The song sits on its own level. Change the balance a week after you saved the mix and export it again.

Play Along. Film yourself playing to any song in your library. The track goes to your headphones, your kit goes to the mic, and the two get mixed after, so you can set the balance whenever you want instead of being stuck with it. Film grades. Eight looks for your video: Auto, Bleach, Tape, Toe, Chungking, VHS, Aero and Double-X, with an intensity slider on each. My Sound. Save a mix you like and put it on the next video in one tap. Export a WAV alongside the video, so the audio is ready for anywhere the video is not. Home screen. Multi-select, folders you can drag mixes into, and a much clearer view of what is inside them. Plus a stronger kick on the Studio toggle, and a pile of fixes.

Six reverb characters: Plate, Room, Ambience, Hall, Arena and Spring. One tap each, built for drums. Hold any mix to rearrange your library, and drop one mix onto another to make a folder out of the pair. Lo-Fi rebuilt: it keeps your kick now, and a new Blend knob lets it colour the drums instead of replacing them. Donuts revoiced: compressor led and mid forward, punchy and dusty instead of thin.

Hold ORIGINAL on the video to hear your untouched audio, so you can A/B your mix against the source without leaving the editor. The compressor now has auto makeup gain. It makes your drums bigger instead of quieter, which is what a compressor is supposed to do. New Blend knob on the compressor for parallel compression: squash hard, then blend it under the dry signal so the stick attack survives. Presets are now free to audition. Try every one of them before deciding whether to pay. Delete mixes you are done with, and drag them into folders to keep things organised.
