Fixworthy

Repair, replace, no bias

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

The only repair-vs-replace app with no stake in your decision. See real math for repair, hire, replace, and live-with-it: every number visible and editable. Should you repair it, replace it, hire someone, or just live with it? Every other source of advice on this question has a stake in the answer. Retailers want you to buy new, repair shops want you to fix it, and DIY guides assume you have already decided. Fixworthy has no stake in which way you go. It is an honest broker, not a sales pitch. Describe what is broken in your own words, like my dryer squeals and will not heat, and Fixworthy runs the real math across all four paths: REPAIR IT YOURSELF: parts, tools, your time, and the real risk of getting it wrong. HIRE A REPAIR: labor and parts, weighed against the convenience of skipping the risk. REPLACE IT: new price minus what your old item is actually worth, plus setup hassle. LIVE WITH IT: the option every biased source leaves out. Sometimes doing nothing is the right call, and Fixworthy shows you what that costs too. NOTHING IS HIDDEN Every number behind every recommendation is visible and editable. Fixworthy shows the classic repair-cost-to-replacement-price heuristic (repairs above roughly half of replacement cost usually favor replacing) as context, not gospel, because your case might be different, and you can see exactly why. It shows remaining useful life, cost per remaining year, the break-even point where replacing starts to pay off, and a repeat-repair penalty if this is not the first time this item has broken. ESTIMATES ARE LABELED, NEVER HIDDEN When you do not know a repair cost or resale value, Fixworthy estimates it, and always tells you it is an estimate. Override any number and watch the recommendation move in real time. That transparency is the whole point: neutrality only means something if you can check the work. NO ACCOUNT REQUIRED Get a verdict without signing in. Fixworthy does not sell your data, does not take a cut of a repair or a purchase, and does not have an affiliate thumb on the scale. The core decision engine is free. Fixworthy currently covers appliances, consumer electronics, and phones, with more categories on the way.
