Resage is a reading app that learns how you read.
You bring your own files. Resage reads alongside you: a calm, full-page reader with an AI companion that stays out of the way until you want it. Ask about the page you’re on, and the answer comes from the actual text in front of you — not from a vague memory of it.
The more you read, the better it fits you. Resage keeps a private learner model — what you understand, where you got stuck, which explanations landed — and it compounds across everything you read. Day 30 doesn’t feel like day 1. That model lives on a single page you can open, read and edit at any time; facts it is confident about persist, guesses fade if they are not borne out. It is never a black box.
FORMATS
- PDF, kept in its original fixed layout — columns, tables and figure captions stay where the author put them
- EPUB
- Kindle files: MOBI and AZW3, DRM-free only. DRM-protected Kindle purchases and Kindle print replica files cannot be imported.
READS THE WHOLE FILE FIRST
- Resage can read through an entire file on your Mac before you discuss it
- Scanned pages are recognized automatically. Text recognition uses Apple’s on-device Vision framework, so there is nothing to install and no OCR tools to fiddle with.
- After that you can discuss the whole file from any page
GROUNDED, NOT GUESSING
- Any claim that your file says something comes with the passage it came from
- When Resage draws on general knowledge rather than your text, it says so explicitly
- When it isn’t sure, it says so instead of making something up. That matters most with the classics and primary sources.
READ WITH YOU, NOT AT YOU
- A standard, full-page document you turn yourself
- One discussion bar — no commands to learn
- A faint mark at the end of a line lets you discuss exactly that sentence, without interrupting your reading
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
- Your files stay on your Mac and in your own iCloud. The whole file is never uploaded.
- Only the few passages needed to answer your question are sent, and they are used only to answer it.
- If your question is about a figure or diagram that has to be seen rather than read, Resage can send an image of that single page so the model can look at it.
- Reading, search, read-through and text recognition run on your device
- We never train models on your files
Free to start, with a weekly discussion allowance. Resage Plus ($4.99/month, or $39.99/year) gives you more discussions each week. Importing, reading, read-through and text recognition are never metered — your allowance is spent only on discussions.
