Japji Sahib, one gem at a time.
Japji Sahib is a treasure of gems — one for each pauri. This gentle, ad-free app helps children (and grown-ups) truly understand Guru Nanak Dev Ji's words, not just read them. Hear each line in a warm recitation, watch every word light up as it is spoken, tap any word to learn what it means, and let each gem shine as you master it.
Most apps teach you to read or pronounce Gurbani. This one helps you understand it — word by word, at your own pace.
THE JOURNEY
• Listen — Hear each line with word-by-word highlighting. Tap any word to hear just that word and see its meaning.
• Seek — A gentle "find the hidden word" game builds the line back up, one word at a time.
• Polish — Match each Gurmukhi word to its meaning and receive your gem.
• Your treasure — 41 gems light up gold as you go, from Mool Mantar to the closing Salok.
MADE WITH CARE
• Warm and reverent. Gurbani is a gift you receive, never something you "win."
• No hearts, no lives, no punishing wrong answers — just a soft shake and kind encouragement.
• No name, no account, no sign-up. We greet you the Khalsa way — Kaur ji or Singh ji.
• No ads. No data collected from children. Works fully offline.
• Roman transliteration and child-friendly meanings can be turned on or off.
FREE, AND FAIR
The Bani is never locked. Listening to and reading all of Japji Sahib — every pauri, its recitation, and the meaning of every word — is free, forever. A single one-time unlock ("Unlock the word-games") opens the interactive word-games for every pauri. No subscription, ever. Families who can't or don't want to pay can unlock the word-games for free too, no questions asked.
Built by Maastarji, with the Gurmukhi text and recitation prepared faithfully from the original.
