On-device AI. Make 3D models from a text prompt right on your iPhone — no internet, no credits, free for everyone. Pick On-device in the model chooser, describe what you want, and watch the shape form in a live preview you can turn as it builds. Models come out print-ready: hollow pockets are filled and loose fragments removed, so most prints are a single solid piece. Not quite right? Tap Another version for a fresh take on the same prompt. The on-device model downloads once, the first time you use it. Works on iPhone 12 Pro and later Pro models, and iPhone 14 and later.

Measure. Tap two points on a real object and Scano3D reads the distance between them. Measurements stay pinned to the object as you move the phone, so you can take a width from the front, walk round, and take the depth without the first one drifting off. Drag either end to adjust it. When you generate a model from a measured photo, your dimensions go with the prompt, so the mesh comes out the size of the real thing — ready to slice, without a scaling step. Works best on iPhones with a LiDAR sensor.

The Apple on-device AI option has been removed. Creating and refining with AI now always uses Cloud AI, which builds far better models.

New App Store preview images showing the kind of functional, print-ready parts Scano3D makes — planters, gears, brackets and fasteners. The app itself is unchanged in this update.

If Scano3D has just saved you a model, it may ask what you think of it. It waits until an export has actually landed on disk, so it can never interrupt a scan or a generation. Scano3D is also now available in German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese.

Introducing Cloud AI — describe an object, or snap a photo of one, and Scano3D generates a 3D model for you, then refine it with AI. Also new: full-colour 3MF export for multi-material printing, and a more detailed default scan.
