BrightSteps: 0-6 Brain Play
Science-backed play, 0–6 yrs
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Every day with your child is a brain-building opportunity — BrightSteps turns the science of early childhood development into simple, joyful play.
Enter your child's birthdate and get three hand-picked activities each day, precisely matched to their age band, from newborn to six years old. Each activity takes 5–25 minutes and uses things you already have at home.
WHAT MAKES BRIGHTSTEPS DIFFERENT
• Every activity is grounded in published research — serve-and-return interaction (Harvard Center on the Developing Child), tummy time (American Academy of Pediatrics), dialogic reading, number games, executive-function play, and more
• Each activity explains WHY it works, with its research source — you're not just playing, you're understanding
• Covers all five developmental domains: Motor, Language, Thinking, Social & Emotional, and Sensory
FEATURES
• 335 curated activities and 1,000+ play ideas across 10 age bands (0–3 months through 5–6 years)
• Milestone checklists based on CDC/AAP guidance — and your child's open milestones steer the daily picks
• Adaptive daily picks that balance domains, avoid repeats, and learn from your favorites — each pick tells you why it was chosen
• Multiple children, each with their own picks, streaks, and progress
• Easier/harder variations to match your child's level
• Step-by-step instructions and simple materials lists
• Daily reminder at the time you choose (scheduled on-device only)
• Daily streaks, weekly stats, and a "brain-building balance" chart
