The transcript appears live as you talk, written by Apple's on-device speech engine. When you stop, Apple Intelligence gives the note a title, a short summary on longer notes, and a tidied version of what you said: filler gone, sentences fixed, your meaning and your voice kept. Audio stays on the device that recorded it, and you can have it cleared automatically after a set time. PAY ONCE Whittle is a one-time purchase, never a subscription. Your first 25 notes are free, with everything included and recordings of any length written out in full. Whittle Pro removes the cap: notes without end, forever. A NOTE ON AI Summaries and tidy notes use Apple Intelligence, which needs a supported iPhone with Apple Intelligence turned on. Without it, notes are titled from their own first words, and recording, transcription, notebooks, translation, search and sync all work exactly the same.
