Y2K Player: Sped Up Songs
Slowed and Reverb, Speed+Pitch
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad
Slowed and reverb, sped up, nightcore — live, on your own files. Y2K chrome, Frutiger Aero, kawaii: the whole app restyles to match. No ads, no account, works offline.
Y2K Player is a music player for iPhone and iPad that slows songs down, speeds them up, and changes their key while they play.
It works on the audio files you already own, and you hear every change as you make it. Nothing renders first. Nothing uploads.
Free, with no ads, no account and no subscription. All of it works offline.
SLOWED AND REVERB, SPED UP, NIGHTCORE
One tap puts you straight into slowed + reverb, sped up or nightcore. Slow a song down until it drags, speed a song up until it runs, and hear the change while the track keeps playing.
CHANGE THE KEY, KEEP THE TEMPO
Speed and pitch stay linked like a record, or split apart. Unlink them and it becomes a pitch changer: move a song into another key for singing, drop it into your range, or push it up into a chipmunk. Link them again and slowing a song down pulls the key down with it.
MAKE THE SOUND
Reverb with six rooms. A five band EQ with a real low shelf, so a bass boost is an actual bass boost and not a volume trick. Wide stereo, distortion, bitcrusher, flanger, and a chop locked to the beat by real BPM detection. All of it is heard live on the playing track.
MAKE AUDIOS FOR EDITS
Cut a song to the part you want, set the speed the edit needs, and export a clean M4A or WAV straight into Files, ready for any video editor. Audio exports are never watermarked. It is the fast way to make a sped up remix, a slowed and reverb version, or a nightcore edit of a song you already have.
POST IT WITHOUT AN EDITOR
Or skip the editor and export the video from here. Full length rather than a thirty second clip, rendered on the device, tall for shorts and stories or wide for YouTube. Put your own image behind it, the song's artwork, or a music visualizer moving to the audio.
A PLAYER THAT BECOMES SOMETHING ELSE
The themes are not colour tints. Each one rebuilds the whole app as a different object: a candybar phone with a backlit green LCD and soft keys, a flip phone in brushed silver with the blue glow those had, a console dashboard you grew up switching on. Frutiger Aero glass, Y2K chrome, vaporwave, kawaii, retro desktops. Library, player, waveform and sliders change together, down to the corner radius.
MUSIC VISUALIZERS THAT REACT
Full screen music visualizers drawn live from whatever is playing, swappable mid song, all original work rather than presets from a library. They run offline like the rest of the app.
TRIM, LOOP, EXPORT
Set a loop on a real waveform, trim a song down to the part that matters, and export it with the speed, the pitch and the effects already in the file. Plays and exports MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, AIFF and FLAC.
AN OFFLINE MUSIC PLAYER FOR LOCAL FILES
Import from Files, from a share sheet, or by pulling the audio out of a video. There is no sign in screen anywhere in the app, no analytics, no tracking, no crash telemetry. Nothing leaves your device, which is why the whole app works in airplane mode.
Songs from a streaming subscription cannot be used, here or in any other app. Those downloads are protected and cannot leave the app that made them. This plays files you own outright.
WHAT PEOPLE USE IT FOR
To slow down a song, to speed up a song, to make a nightcore edit, to make a slowed and reverb video, to bass boost a track, to change a song's key for singing, to slow a song down for guitar practice, to loop a passage until it is learned, to speed up an audiobook, to pull the audio out of a video, to trim a song into a clip, and to play local music offline with no account.
FREE, AND PRO
Speed and pitch are free and always will be. Pro adds the effect rack and the rest of the themes and visualizers, as a single payment that never renews and never switches anything off. Starting a Pro theme or visualizer opens a 72 hour window first, and the app says so when it starts rather than after it ends. Free video exports carry a small watermark. Audio exports never do.
3.0 — the full revamp.
• A whole new layout: Home, Library and Search, with a shop for the packs you want
• Over 50 themes and 28 visualizers, every one shown before you decide
• Skies, not gradients: Stargaze, After Hours and Daybreak Bay have weather of their own
• One tap sounds: slowed and reverb, sped up, nightcore, chopped — or save your own
• Chop, on the beat: a stutter that locks to the tempo, like a real beat repeat
• Real BPM detection, and it says nothing rather than guess
• Cinema mode: the visualizer, the whole screen, and nothing else but the time
• Seamless loops, a bigger now playing, and fine tuning steps
Y2K Player is free — no ads, no accounts, works offline. Pro is optional: one purchase, every theme, look and effect, forever.
