Pict-o-view is a fast, private culler and viewer built for real folders of real photos — go through a whole shoot at full speed, with nothing ever leaving your Mac.
Point it at the folders you already have. Pict-o-view only ever sees the folders you add — it never scans the rest of your disk, keeps no library you have to import into, and works directly with your original files.
CULL AT SPEED Start culling and go: one key to keep, one to reject, one to unmark — each advancing to the next frame automatically, with a running count of what's left. Your marks are saved, survive relaunches, and travel with your files when you move or rename them. Sweep rejects to the Trash or a "Rejected" folder, hand every keeper to a folder you choose, or export your decisions as a CSV. Rebind the keys to whatever feels natural.
BUILT FOR WHOLE SHOOTS Neighboring photos are decoded before you reach them, so holding an arrow key flies through a folder instead of stuttering. Zoom, pan, filmstrip, full screen, and a slideshow are all a keystroke away.
EVERY FORMAT YOU SHOOT Images: JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, GIF, WebP, BMP, and camera RAW — CR2/CR3, NEF, ARW, DNG, RAF, ORF and more. Video: MOV, MP4, and M4V, plus MKV that opens and plays instantly through a built-in engine — no conversion, no temporary files, with 4K HEVC and H.264 decoded by your Mac's own hardware and multi-language audio tracks you can switch between.
REAL FILE MANAGEMENT Rename, move, copy, paste, drag between folders and out to other apps, reveal in Finder, and star your favorites. It's a Finder that shows you the picture.
EDITS THAT CAN'T BITE Rotate and crop are non-destructive — stored beside the file and applied on the fly. Your original is never rewritten; export a copy when you want the pixels baked in.
PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION No accounts. No analytics. No servers. No network calls at all. Pict-o-view sees only the folders you hand it, and your photos and videos never leave your device.
