SLoop is a music education tool for transcription practice: open a piece of
music, slow it down, loop the hard part, and let your ear do the learning.
FREE TO USE EVERY DAY
The whole app is free, with five minutes of playback each day. Loading files,
setting loops, reading the staff, placing markers, and exporting are always
available — a single one-time unlock removes the daily playback limit for good.
LISTEN SLOWLY, IN TUNE
Play any local audio file from 25% to 200% speed with the pitch fully
preserved. The passage stays in its original key at every tempo, so what you
practice slow is exactly what you will play fast.
LOOP THE PART THAT MATTERS
Drag directly on the waveform to set a gapless A–B loop, then fine-tune the
start and end with edge handles. Zoom and pan to work at the level of a
phrase, a bar, or a single note.
SEE WHAT YOUR EAR IS HEARING
SLoop detects the pitches in the loop and draws them on a real grand staff
with professional Bravura engraving, including 8va brackets for extreme
registers. The detected notes are honest guesses — suggestions for your ear
to confirm, not answers to copy. Transcription stays an ear skill; the staff
is there to check your work.
MARK THE MUSIC, EXPORT THE SKETCH
Place Beat, Measure, and Section markers as you listen; SLoop computes the
tempo from your beat markers. Tap Measure on each downbeat, pick the meter,
and export a quantized MIDI sketch to finish in your notation program.
PRACTICE WITHOUT FRICTION
SLoop remembers your session: reopen the app and your file, loop, markers,
and speed are right where you left them. Local video files are supported
alongside audio, so you can watch the technique while you slow it down.
