On cellular, Network Details now answers more: Radio: which technology is actually carrying your data. The status bar says "5G" for both kinds; Radien tells you whether it is standalone (SA) or non-standalone (NSA, a 5G radio on an LTE core), or LTE, or older. NAT64: whether your carrier runs an IPv6-only network and translates IPv4 through it, and at which prefix. If you ever wondered why cellular shows no IPv4 address the way Wi-Fi does, this row is the answer. The sheet itself got more honest. It shows only the rows your connection can answer, so no more dashes for Wi-Fi facts while on cellular. On a point-to-point cellular link the Router row now says so instead of showing your own address. And if the network changes while the sheet is open, every fact is re-fetched; previously the public IP could keep showing the old network's address. IP Converter: pasting an address with a /prefix now says the prefix was ignored, and a bare prefix like 64:ff9b::/96 no longer reports a phantom embedded 0.0.0.0.

Multi Ping now saves groups. Name a set of hosts, then load it again with one tap — your home network, the office, a handful of servers. A group can hold fewer than four hosts, and the number on it says how many, so a tap never surprises you. Network Details now names your access point: the MAC address of the Wi-Fi radio you are actually connected to, and who made it. Useful in a house with more than one access point, since roaming changes it. The lookup is entirely offline — the vendor database ships inside the app, so the address is never sent anywhere. The live status card now carries its connection state as a coloured border and a soft wash, so the answer arrives before you read a word. And a Personal Hotspot is now named as one instead of being called plain Wi-Fi. Also fixed: an ordinary home network could be labelled "metered" for no reason. iOS reports that flag for the whole network path, and Wi-Fi Assist briefly puts cellular into it. Radien now describes the network rather than the momentary path, and Network Details states the answer outright.

Fixed: a name lookup can no longer hang a run. If a resolver stops answering, on a VPN for example, Radien now gives up after five seconds and tells you which failure it was, instead of leaving the screen frozen with no way to stop it. Ping, Multi Ping and Traceroute now show "Resolving…" while they wait, so a slow lookup no longer looks like a freeze. "Name lookup timed out" is a separate message from "Could not resolve host", because they are different problems and the difference is often the whole diagnosis. Multi Ping rows now name the failure instead of showing a dash. Also fixed: a host that never replies is no longer graded as a poor connection. Plenty of hosts ignore ping on purpose, and blaming your network was the wrong answer.

Fixed: your Wi-Fi network name now appears every time you open Network Details. Until now it showed only on the run where you first granted location permission, and turned into a dash on every launch after that. The location permission request is translated as well, so it now appears in your language instead of English.

Radien now correctly lists all nine of its languages on the App Store: English, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Korean and Italian. You could always switch between them inside the app; now the store page says so too. The app itself is unchanged.

Radien 1.2 is the accessibility update: the honest network toolbox, now for your ears too. • Full VoiceOver support: every tool works end to end.
