Lupa changes that the moment you connect it. Lupa reads your documents ahead of time — file names and contents both — into a fast local index. Install the bundled command-line tool from Settings and your terminal and AI agents can query that index directly: PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Hangul HWP and scanned documents, in about 30ms. Lupa now speaks English and Simplified Chinese, and reads the text inside your images. • English and Simplified Chinese throughout — menus, settings, onboarding and the built-in guide. Search prefixes work in every language: n:name c:content f:folder, or kind: size: date: • Text inside images is now searchable. Screenshots and photos are read with on-device text recognition and join content search, so a phrase you only ever saw in a screenshot is findable. Opt-in, from the status bar. • Typing stays responsive on very large libraries. Results now appear while you type and are completed the moment you stop, instead of making every keystroke wait for the full search. • The result list no longer shifts under you. Indexing in the background used to redraw the list and take your selection with it; your scroll position and selection now stay put. • Arrow keys move the preview. Walking the list with the keyboard now updates the preview pane, the same as clicking. • Agents can read a document's text without opening the file. The bundled command-line tool returns the indexed text directly, which keeps files closed and answers small. Searching, indexing, text recognition and previews all happen on this Mac. The app contains no network code; tips are processed by the App Store.
