Here’s how it works:
Every day the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
In summer, open when it’s cooler outside than inside. Close when the advantage disappears.
In winter, open when it’s warmer outside than inside. Close in the evening.
Basic thermodynamics: if it’s colder outside and your house is warmer, opening the windows cools the house for free. Vice versa for gentle heating. Free energy, unlike your HVAC system that costs money to run and service every year.
Fresh air when conditions are right feels great and is healthier. You sleep better in a properly cooled or warmed house. The number one fix for low T is sleep. No sleep, and Mr. Happy becomes Mr. Sad.
