In this update, we’ve squashed some bugs and made under-the-hood improvements to make your snipping experience smoother and more reliable than ever! Improvements & Fixes: Smoother Setup: We've added a gorgeous new guidance window to help new users easily configure Screen Recording permissions in macOS System Settings. True HEIC Export: Resolved an issue where images exported as HEIC were sometimes saved in the wrong encoding format. Your High-Efficiency captures are now perfectly formatted and natively supported across all platforms. Cursor Reliability: Fixed a rare bug where rapidly pressing the capture hotkey multiple times could cause your mouse cursor to become stuck as a crosshair. System Shortcut Stability: Improved memory management for global keyboard shortcuts to ensure they always trigger perfectly without interfering with other macOS apps.

In this update, we've focused on making your captures sharper, your editing experience smoother, and your workflow faster. Crystal Clear Captures We’ve completely overhauled our rendering engine! All of your screenshots, blurs, and annotations are now processed in high-fidelity 16-bit P3 color space with full Retina resolution support. No more loss of clarity—what you see is exactly what you get. A Better Text & Commenting Experience • Drag-to-Move: Changed your mind? You can now smoothly click and drag your text annotations and comment pins anywhere around the canvas. • Smarter Cleanup: Accidentally clicked to add text but didn't type anything? The empty text box will automatically disappear when you click away. We’ve also added a handy trash icon to easily delete any text field. Lossless PNGs for Everyone We believe everyone deserves the highest quality captures. We’ve upgraded the default export format for all users—including our free tier—to lossless PNG, so your snips are always perfectly crisp. Bug Fixes & Improvements • Fixed: Resolved an issue where saving an image with drawings or blurs would cause the image to lose its original clarity and become pixelated. • Fixed: Fixed a bug where exporting an image and opening it in Apple's default Preview app would cause the image to display at a massive, distorted size. Images now retain their exact physical dimensions across all apps. • Fixed: Corrected a glitch where the text input box would spawn far away from where your mouse actually clicked. • Fixed: Addressed an issue where empty text fields would leave behind a stray "Text" label on the screen. As always, thank you for using iSnip! If you love this update, please consider leaving us a review on the App Store!
