iPhone

The iPhone half of Drifft. Set it up on your Mac, connect this app with a code, and the session that protects your work follows you when you walk away. Drifft for iPhone is the companion to Drifft for Mac. Drifft for Mac is free, and it lives at drifftapp.com. Set Drifft up there, then connect this app with a code it gives you, and the session that protects your work follows you when you walk away from the desk. You can also just use it here. Sign in with your email and the iPhone app runs sessions on its own: it shields the apps you choose for as long as a session lasts, nudges you when you drift, and keeps the clock on your Lock Screen. Connect a Mac later and it becomes the companion it was designed to be. The planning part is easy. You already know what you should be doing. And somehow it is 3pm and you are in a tab you never meant to open. That is not a planning problem. You had a plan. Drifft is what happens after the deciding. Commit to something you can actually finish. You can only hold focus for so long, and the commonest reason a day goes nowhere is not distraction, it is that what you wrote down was never finishable in one sitting. Say it rough, however it comes out. If it is more than one sitting, your coach cuts it into two or three results you can finish, in the order to do them, each sized to how long you actually focus. Never more than three. Every session blocks your distractions, on iPhone and Mac. Not a reminder, a real block: the apps and sites you picked are shielded on your phone, and covered on your Mac, for as long as the session runs. On the Mac it goes further, blocking site by site, so the pages this work needs stay open while the ones that pull you off do not. One session, both devices. The override is always one tap away, because this is friction, not a cage. Recover, don't spiral. Drift or stall and one tap gets you a small next step instead of a scolding. There is no streak to break here. Drifft reads what moved and learns what works. At the end it tells you what it saw, how much of the session you really spent in the tools that belong to the work, and pre-picks an outcome. You change it in one tap. Then it keeps what it learned: how long you actually focus on this kind of work as opposed to what you estimated, which hours hold and which ones leak, and what pulls you back. The next commitment gets sized by what happened rather than by what you hoped. That record is the work, not the hours, and it is the part a to-do list throws away. Nothing carries over. Today's commitments expire tonight. Whatever you did not get to is gone, tomorrow starts empty, and there is no backlog turning red at you. Three a day, maximum. What survives is the record of what you actually finished, and what Drifft learned about how you work. Put someone on it. For the ones you cannot afford to skip, name a person and send them a link from your own messages. They need no app and no account. They see the commitment and how it is going, and they can nudge you while the clock runs. Drifft never shows them your apps, your sites or your screen. Anything else, you send yourself. A coach that learns how you work. It sharpens vague commitments, learns your real focus length and where you drift, gets you unstuck, and reviews your week. The blocking and the record are real mechanisms either way: turn the coach off and the line still holds. What this app does, specifically. The phone next to your keyboard is where focus leaks, which is the whole reason this half exists. Start a session on the Mac and this app carries it: the same commitment, the same clock, the same block, so walking away from the desk does not end the protection. It shields your distracting apps for as long as that session runs, and the override is one tap here as it is there. One account, one session, two devices. Firm but never shaming. Drifft holds a line with you, not over you. It reads which app, site or document is in front, and how much you wrote: never what you wrote, never your screen. Delete your data anytime. Free.
