Numgrid is a daily cross-sums number puzzle — think of it as a crossword built from arithmetic instead of words. The operators between the cells are given; your job is to work out which digit belongs where. Guessing is never required: every daily puzzle has exactly one solution you can reach by reasoning alone. It is the calm morning ritual for anyone who loves sudoku, KenKen, kakuro and a genuinely good brain teaser.
HOW TO PLAY
- Fill the 3x3 grid with the digits 1 to 9, each used exactly once.
- Read every row left to right: it forms an equation that must equal the target on the right.
- Read every column top to bottom: it must equal the target at the bottom.
- The operators (+, -, x) are fixed and shown between the cells. Multiplication is worked out before addition and subtraction, exactly like at school. Every value stays a whole number — no division, no fractions.

SOLVING TIPS
- Start where a row or column has a small target with a subtraction — the options are few.
- Remember the order: work out the x part first, then add or subtract.
