Every note has a place in the key. Learn to hear it — cadences, answers that resolve so you hear why. Try every exercise free. One purchase, no subscription. Most ear training teaches you distances. Pawry teaches you places. Interval drills tell you "that was a major sixth." But when you're playing, what you actually need to know is where the note sits in the key — is that the third? the seventh? Functional ear training builds exactly that skill, and it's how Pawry works from the very first question: A short chord progression plants the key in your ear. One note plays. You name its place — Do, Re, Mi… And after you answer, the note walks home to the tonic, step by step, so you hear why it is what it is. EIGHT EXERCISES • Scale Degrees — the heart of the method: cadence, note, resolution • Intervals — ascending, descending and harmonic • Intervals in Context — the same intervals, anchored inside a key • Chords — 11 qualities, inversions, block or arpeggiated • Chord Progressions — name every chord by Roman numeral • Melodic Dictation — hear a melody, name every note • Scales — major, the three minors, and all five modes • Perfect Pitch — one note, no context, name it A PATH, NOT A GRAB BAG Curated levels take each exercise from "anchors only" to full difficulty. Pass a level, unlock the next. Or open Free Play and build your own drill: choose keys (major and minor), degrees, intervals, chord qualities, melody length and motion, cadence style, tempo and balance. PRACTICE THAT ADAPTS Pawry notices what you miss — m6 answered as M6, min7 as dom7 — and quietly asks it more often. After every session: your weakest item and a one-tap drill for it. Statistics show accuracy over time, weak spots, common confusions and your streak. MADE FOR DAILY MINUTES A daily goal, an optional reminder, streaks, and instant sound — four instruments (or a random one per question), adjustable speed and note length. YOURS, PRIVATELY Everything runs on your phone. No account, no ads, no analytics, no data collection — practice on a plane if you like. The first level of every exercise is free forever — Intervals and Scale Degrees give you two. One purchase unlocks everything, shareable with your family. No subscription. Pawry is named after Aury, the orange-and-white cat who supervised every practice session this app was built during. She's the icon. Sounds: GeneralUser GS by S. Christian Collins.
