KelimeYAP turns learning English vocabulary into a deck of cards you actually want to go through. Built for Turkish speakers: every word comes with its Turkish meaning, its English definition, and a picture of it being used.
HOW IT WORKS
Each word gives you three honest choices: I don't know it, I'm getting there, I know it. Swipe left, swipe down, or swipe right. There is no score to chase and no wrong answer.
The app keeps track of how your confidence in each word changes over time. Mark a word as known three times in a row and it retires from the deck, or retire it instantly with the Mastered button. When you want to drill only the words you are unsure about, one tap filters the deck down to them.
YOU UNCOVER THE MEANING
The meaning is not sitting there when the card arrives. You scratch the bottom of the card to reveal it, like a scratch ticket. That one small move buys you a second of real thinking before you see the answer, and that second is where learning happens. If you would rather skip it, one setting turns it off.
VISUAL HINTS THAT ACTUALLY HELP
Tap the bulb and you see the word inside a real sentence, with the word itself highlighted, and an image made for that exact sentence. Not a generic stock photo of the topic, an image of that sentence.
Over 5,000 words have their own images.
YOUR LEVEL, YOUR PACE
Six levels from A1 to C2. Pick the ones you want; the higher levels open up as you work through the one below. 5,381 words and 540 phrases, drawn from Oxford 3000/5000, Longman 3000 and OPAL. When a word is part of a common phrase, a button on the card shows you those phrases too.
LEARN WITH FILMS AND SERIES
The Store has vocabulary decks built from films and TV episodes, so you can study an episode's words before you watch it. New users get 5 decks free, and Pro unlocks all of them.
PROVE WHAT YOU KNOW
The words you swipe collect into a mission: six short steps, each with its own question type, from filling in the blank to picking the picture for a sentence you hear, and then a mixed final. A word you answer without a mistake leaves the pool; the ones you miss stay, and later come back as a Special Quiz made only of them. Every mission adds a piece to a puzzle, and a finished puzzle becomes a trophy you can share. Correct answers earn stars, and stars turn into credits.
THE CLIMB
Your progress is a mountain route. You pass peaks, unlock badges, and keep your daily streak alive. Charts show how your words moved from "I don't know" to "I know", which levels you are growing in, and how steady you have been. Learning is a journey here, not a list to finish.
STUCK? ASK KULABUZ
Kulabuz, the little guide in the corner of every screen, answers your questions about how the app works. Its answers are generated by AI and can occasionally be wrong.
OFFLINE
The words live on your phone, so the cards keep coming when the connection drops. Example sentences, images, quizzes and the Store need a connection, and the free version has an offline card limit. With Pro, your cards and decks work offline and your progress keeps saving.
MOVING TO A NEW PHONE
Settings gives you a personal code. Type it on the new device and your progress comes with you. No account needed, because there are no accounts.
PRIVACY, SERIOUSLY
KelimeYAP asks for nothing personal. No sign up, no email, no password, no social login, no location, no contacts. You open the app and you are already in. And if you ever want your data deleted, one button in Settings does it.
