Margin brings your team's messages, channels, and voice & video calls together in one app - simple enough that nobody needs an IT department to run it. HOW IT WORKS - Margin - your organization's home for every team, space and conversation - Spaces - Groups within your margin: a department, a project, or any team - Channels - topic-based conversations inside a space: announcements, planning, general, or however your team works. Most tools try to do everything. Margins does less, on purpose - just the things your team actually uses every day. PRIVATE WHEN IT MATTERS Turn on Secret Mode for any private chat or group coonversation. Secret chats are end-to-end encrypted - messages are stored encrypted on the server, so only the people in the conversation can read them. Your private key is encrypted with your password before it evers leaves your device; the server can never read it. It's optional, not the default. VOICE & VIDEO One-on-one calls are peer-to-peer - audio and video flow directly between you and the other person. The server only passes the connection signal, never the media itself. HOSTED IN EUROPE, GDPR NATIVE Margin runs on infrastructure in Europe - not on American vendors like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Your data stays in Europe and is handled within European laws. OPEN AND SELF_HOSTABLE Margin's full source code is public, auditable bt anyone. Prefer to run it yourself? Get margin up and running easily on your own servers as well. Margin is built by a small team in Aarhus, Denmark who wanted a chat platform without the bloat.
