FIVE NEW ARENAS — FIVE REAL PLACES • RYNEK GŁÓWNY, Kraków — the covered market down the middle splits the square in two, so the horde always comes at you down one lane or the other. • BRANDENBURG GATE, Berlin — a wall across the whole map with five doorways in it. They arrive as a column, not as a front. • JEMAA EL-FNAA, Marrakesh — a souk maze of short sightlines. You don't get driven out of it, you get driven into it. • GYEONGBOKGUNG, Seoul — four courtyards on one axis, at three heights, with bridges and ponds between them. • SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE — a peninsula that narrows as you climb it. You start at the foot of the Monumental Steps and back your way up. That makes 28 real places on Earth. A BRAND-NEW HOME SCREEN Your survivor stands front and centre now, on real ground, with the city behind him. Everything else moved to the edges, where your thumbs already are: shop, specs and arsenal down the left, friends, streak and pass down the right, missions, the climb and PLAY along the bottom. Tap your coins to go straight to the shop. FIXED • You can no longer stand inside the scenery on the new maps — walls, pillars and staircases now stop a body the way they look like they should. • Stairs are honest: what looks climbable is climbable, and what doesn't, isn't. • Your shots clear low cover you are standing above instead of dying in it. • Turrets stand on the floor they were dropped on, at any height. • Thirteen maps used to start the run with you inside the scenery. SUNDAY TOURNAMENT Every Sunday, one arena, the whole world in it. Register, take up to five runs, and only your best one counts. The map is announced days ahead, so you can learn it before the gun. The top 400 win coins and shards, the top 40 take a crest, and the top 20 open vault chests. MAP CRESTS Finish in the top 3 of any arena and the crest is yours the moment the run banks — a separate one for every map in the game. THE KILL CAM, REBUILT The last kill of a campaign level is now filmed over your shoulder and down the barrel, with the shot that landed it hanging in the air, instead of a close-up of the impact.
