Where your nail inspo finally lives.
Polish Index is the nail polish app where every image is tagged with the exact polish. See a shade you love and know exactly what it is, then find it, save it, and see its dupes in seconds. Thousands of polishes across 50+ brands, with every detail sourced straight from the brand itself, never third-party sources, and hand-checked for accuracy.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Find any polish, fast.
Search by name, number, brand, color, finish, or formula. Real filters, not guesswork. Tap a color family and narrow it to the exact shade.
Match a color from a photo.
Point your camera at anything, a dress, a flower, a wall, and Polish Index finds the closest real polishes. Or pick a color by hand and see the nearest matches.
Find the dupe.
Love a shade but want it in a different brand? Every polish shows its closest matches across every brand we carry, free for everyone.
Submit a polish.
Spot a shade we are missing? Submit it right in the app and help the index grow.
Know what is in the bottle.
Every polish shows its finish and formula, plus its full ingredients whenever the brand publishes them. Clean beauty is built into search: filter by real, verified claims like vegan, cruelty-free, plant-based, gluten-free, halal, eco-friendly, HEMA-free, TPO-free, and the full N-free ladder from 5-free to 21-free.
Save and organize.
Heart your Favorites. Build Inspo Boards for every occasion: bridal, holiday, a trip, your go-to reds. Keep a Collection of what you already own, sorted into Drawers, so you never double up.
See what other polish lovers think.
Read reviews tied to the exact polish, so you know the shade is real before you wear it. Follow the people whose taste you trust and see what they are wearing.
POLISH INDEX PRO
Ready to go all in? Polish Index Pro lifts every limit and unlocks the whole app. Unlimited Favorites, Collection, and Inspo Boards with no caps. It sucks that you have to pay in order to use the app to it’s full potential. Even just adding more than 10 polishes to your collection. The whole reason why I downloaded the app was so I could have a place to digitally catalog all the polishes I have. The app has so much to offer, but I can’t justify spending more money in this economy.

We hope you decide to build your collection with us in the future. We obviously would not build an app of this size and detail, not having some form a paid feature involved. Hosting a users collection has real costs associated with it, which is why unlimited polishes in My Collection was deemed a pro feature. There are costs associated with building the app, maintaining it, as well as hosting it and all the user data monthly. The database is free and never capped: 16,000+ shades from 60+ brands, searchable by dupe, color, finish, formula, clean beauty certifications and ingredients. No paywall, no credit card asked for, ever. Caps apply only to the personal tools: 10 polishes, 25 favorites, 3 inspo boards. Pro lifts all three to unlimited and adds allergen alerts and manicure tracking. We hope that user ratings in the future can reflect the actual app and its tools, not simply what one user is or isn't willing to pay for to utilize it. Thank you.
Perfect for my polish obsession!!

I love this app!! Being able to find a polish based on a color you like or even match a color from a picture is seriously so cool. I also love that you can find similar shades/dupes from different brands instead of searching forever trying to figure out what color something is. There’s so much information in one place but it’s still really easy to use. Such a good idea for anyone who loves doing their nails!

Very well put together

Catalog is accurate and very well put together. Has been incredibly useful and it’s free so that’s awesome. Love the pre tagged manicure photos, makes it so easy to find the polish and its dupes. The dupe feature is honestly my favorite. Glad that was included in free version too. Manicure tracker is cool and helps me keep track of my salon visits and track the price I paid too which I like. Overall good app.

Spoiler alert: there’s a feature paywall (and the developers don’t like feedback <3)

This app looks and works well, but only being able to add 10 polishes to your collection unless you upgrade to the Pro version is, frankly, ridiculous. This app is pretty much shooting itself in the foot because being able to catalogue your polish collection is probably one of the biggest draws for people to get your app. Capping it at 10 unless people open their wallets is silly, and will turn off so many people who may have joined and decided to upgrade to Pro after using and liking the app. I ended up going over to Lacquergram because you can catalogue all your polishes for free. If they get rid of the cap I would be willing to return. Otherwise, sorry, but I’m not shelling out for a feature that’s free on other nail polish apps.Update: thanks to the developers for the condescending response. I never said that the app should be free; obviously there are costs to creating and hosting an app. I gave my opinion that making a feature that is free on other apps paid on yours (and would be one of the biggest reasons that people use your app) isn’t wise. The database is great and it’s awesome that it’s free, but so is Google, and while I would’ve used the app for it before, if this supercilious response is what valid criticism gets from your team, I’ll stick to Google. And I say valid criticism because my user rating does reflect “the actual app and its tools” and not what “one user is or isn’t willing to pay to utilize it.” My review is that having a free tool on other apps cost on yours means I don’t find the app to be as good as others, and I rated accordingly. I originally gave three stars for that reason. Sorry that you had difficulty understanding that!As a result of the developer’s patronizing feedback, though, I will be warning my polish friends away from this app. Running a business is also about listening to valid critiques and responding appropriately, not with thinly veiled condescension and ignorance of people’s feedback. Best of luck with your app.
